  • Publication number: 20070260918
Abstract: A storage apparatus according to the present invention can store information related to a power supply abnormality after shutting down the principal functions of a data processing board when a power supply abnormality occurs in a data processing board. A power supply controller of a data processing board mounted in the storage apparatus monitors the operational status of DC/DC power supplies mounted to the data processing board, on the basis of detection signals from a voltage detection circuit. When a power supply abnormality is detected, the power supply controller immediately shuts down the operation of all the DC/DC power supplies. Shutting down the DC/DC power supplies also shuts down the principal functionality of the data processing board. Then, after storing information related to the power supply abnormality in memory, the power supply controller shuts down the auxiliary power supply.

  • Patent number: 7181792
Abstract: A therapeutic bed is arranged so that its inclination is adjusted by a bed inclination adjusting device provided to a rotation drive device disposed in a Y-direction moving device. The bed inclination adjusting device supports the therapeutic bed at three points by its three inclination adjusters. Each of the inclination adjusters converts the rotation of a motor into the rectilinear motion of a slider, and varies the level of a universal joint provided to the therapeutic bed by a support rod rotatably attached to the slider. This allows the inclination angle of the therapeutic bed to be varied. The provision of the bed inclination adjusting device reduces the number of drive devices for positioning the therapeutic bed, thereby decreasing the cumulative value of errors in all drive devices.

  • Publication number: 20060266649
Abstract: An electrophoretic member is structured such that a plate member as a base plate is provided with a separating flow path in a shape of a groove, and another plate member is provided with through-holes as small reservoirs at positions corresponding to both ends of the flow path. Both plate members are bonded together, so that the flow path is disposed inside thereof and both ends of the flow path communicate with the reservoirs to constitute an integrated base plate. Larger reservoirs having a size greater than that of the small reservoirs are connected at the positions of the small reservoirs on the plate member. Thus, a sample injection quantity can be minimized.

  • Patent number: 7136161
Abstract: A component analyzing apparatus includes a microchip having a fine separating flow path for separating components when a sample solution labeled with fluorescence passes therethrough. A light irradiation device is arranged to irradiate light to a predetermined area of the microchip at a predetermined angle so that the proximity field light irradiates at least a portion of the separating flow path of the microchip. A light detecting device is disposed above the microchip to receive the fluorescence discharged from the sample solution labeled with fluorescence present in the separating flow path with the proximity field light generated from light irradiated by the light irradiating device as excitation light.

  • Patent number: 7115337
Abstract: A plurality of fuel electrodes are disposed on one surface of a solid polyelectrolyte membrane, while a plurality of oxidizer electrodes are disposed on the other surface of the same to create a plurality of unit cells which share the solid polyelectrolyte membrane. These unit cells are electrically connected through connection electrode extending through the solid polyelectrolyte membrane. A groove is formed in a region of the solid polyelectrolyte membrane between adjacent unit cells. This groove limits the migration of hydrogen ions to adjacent unit cells to prevent a reduction in voltage. The resulting solid polymer fuel cell, which is in a simple structure and reduced in size, can provide high power.

  • Publication number: 20060213775
Abstract: A solvent for use in the preparation of an analytical sample includes at least one component selected from the group consisting of polyvalent alcohols, sugars, and hydrophilic polymers, and has a boiling point at one atmosphere of from 101° C. to 300° C. The solvent facilitates the preparation of samples for use in analyzing extremely small quantities in analytical devices having capillary channels. By virtue of its boiling point, the solvent can prevent the concentration of analytical samples without requiring special devices or tools, even when a minute quantity of sample solution is left for a long period of time or is placed in a high-temperature environment.
