  • Publication number: 20030042535
Abstract: In a miniaturized field effect transistor, the roughness of the interface between a gate dielectric film and a gate electrode is controlled on an atomic scale. The thickness variation of the gate dielectric film is lowered, whereby a field effect transistor with high mobility is manufactured. An increase in the mobility in the field effect transistor can be achieved not only in the case of using a conventional SiO2 thermal oxide film as the gate dielectric film but also in the case of using a high dielectric material for the gate dielectric film.

  • Patent number: 6483609
Abstract: A scanner 1 reads image information at read resolution set by a resolution control section 3 and stores the image information in memory 2. An image separation section 11 separates the image information into a first image plane (picture part), a second image plane (text part color information), and a selection image plane (text part forms) for selecting either the first or second image plane. The resolution control section 3 sets optimum resolutions in first to third resolution conversion sections 12-14 in response to image quality, the original type, the system environment, the image plane characteristics, etc. The three image planes are converted into the resolutions set in the first to third resolution conversion sections 12-14. The image planes after undergoing the resolution conversion are compressed in first to third compression sections 15-17 and wrapped in one data format by an image format section 18.

  • Publication number: 20020157386
Abstract: An exhaust emission control system of an internal combustion engine is provided which controls the oxygen concentration of exhaust passing through the exhaust emission control device according to the flow rate of exhaust flowing through an exhaust passage when the exhaust emission control device is regenerated, so that the regeneration is completed within a short period of time while the filter is prevented from being damaged by melting during the regeneration. This improves the exhaust emission control performance and reliability of the filter.

  • Publication number: 20020152744
Abstract: An exhaust emission control system of an internal combustion engine capable of post injection is disclosed which provides control such that the injection timing in sub injection is set to a point earlier than the target injection timing when the sub injection is started, and the injection timing in the sub injection is then delayed to the target injection timing. This realizes the post injection under the optimum conditions and enables an efficient rise in the exhaust temperature while inhibiting deterioration of the drivability due to a rapid change in torque.

  • Patent number: 6426809
Abstract: Input image information undergoes color conversion processing in a color conversion section 1, then is separated into first piece of image data, second piece of image data, and selection data in a multilayer data processing section 2 and transmission data in the multilayer data format is output. On the other hand, a 1-layer data processing section 3 prepares transmission data in the normal 1-layer data format from the image information. A color determination section 4 determines whether the input image information is a color or monochrome image. If the image information is determined a color image, a selection section 6 selects the transmission data in the multilayer data format; if the image information is determined a monochrome image, the selection section 6 selects the transmission data in the 1-layer data format. Then, it transmits the selected transmission data through a transmission section 7.

  • Publication number: 20020063888
Abstract: A sender device 1 stores, in header information about image information, information indicating that attribute information and image data rearranged in sequence, and produces image information by means of storing attribute information and image data in a predetermined sequence. The thus-produced image information is sent to a receiver device 2 by way of a network line 3. When receipt of image information is initiated, the receiver device 2 refers to the header information, thereby determining presence/absence, in the header information, of information indicating that attribute information and image data are stored in a predetermined sequence. When it has been determined that attribute information and image data are arranged in a predetermined sequence, image data included in the received image information are immediately decompressed, and the thus-decompressed image data are output in the form of a record or display.
