  • Patent number: 6646376
Abstract: A plasma display panel is formed with a plurality of partitions that include a plurality of main parts and a plurality of subparts that can extend from an end part of one or more of the plurality of main parts in a direction perpendicular to the main parts, to thereby provide an end part that is wider than a central part of the partition. The increased size of the end parts prevent swellings that may occur during the production process. Additionally, as part of the method of forming the partitions, the end parts of the partitions can be further partially heated to a temperature higher than a softening point of the partition material, for example, by an application of energy from a laser beam to further address the swelling problem.

Abstract: To provide a technique for relatively easily preventing yellowing of a PDP that uses silver electrodes, and a PDP utilizing the technique that is capable of displaying images with high luminance and high quality. To form the electrodes, an alloy composed of Ag as a main constituent and a transition metal (at least one selected from Cu, Cr, Co, Ni, Mn, and Fe) is used, or an oxide of such a transition metal is added. Alternatively, an alloy composed of Ag as a main constituent and a metal (at least one selected from Ru, Rh, Ir, Os, and Re) is used, or an oxide of such a metal is added. Alternatively, Ag particles whose surfaces are each coated with a metal (Pd, Cu, Cr, Ni, Ir, or Ru) or a metal oxide (SiO2, Al2O3, NiO, ZrO2, Fe2O3, ZnO, In2O3, CuO, TiO2, or Pr6O11) are used.

  • Patent number: 6439943
Abstract: The object of the present invention is to provide a high-intensity, reliable plasma display panel even when the cell structure is fine by resolving the problems such as a low visible light transmittance and low voltage endurance of a dielectric glass layer. The object is realized by forming the dielectric glass layer in the manner given below. A glass paste including a glass powder is applied on the front glass substrate or the back glass substrate, according to a screen printing method, a die coating method, a spray coating method, a spin coating method, or a blade coating method, on each of which electrodes have been formed, and the glass powder in the applied glass paste is fired. The average particle diameter of the glass powder is 0.1 to 1.5 &mgr;m and the maximum particle diameter is equal to or smaller than three times the average particle diameter.
