  • Publication number: 20020195238
Abstract: A cooling device suitable for cooling a laser diode bar constituting a surface illuminating device as a light source for exciting a laser medium of a solid-state laser oscillator of high power. The cooling device is capable of flowing coolant at sufficient flow rate by reducing the pressure loss in the flow passage of the coolant in the device, to realize a light source device of small thickness with high cooling capability and high reliability. The cooling device comprises a first plate member, one or more second plate member and a third plate member to be joined together to form a laminated body. The second plate member has grooved paths formed on both surfaces thereof and having depths greater than a half of thickness of the plate member, and also opened paths for communicating grooved paths formed on the first plate member and the third plate member.

  • Publication number: 20020070620
Abstract: To effectively utilize the reluctance torque in an embedded magnet type permanent magnet rotor to thereby decrease the leakage flux, a rotor core is formed with slits having longitudinal ends. The longitudinal ends of the slits are open to the outside in the outside circumferential surface of the rotor core. Narrow bridges are formed at longitudinal middle portions of the slits. The narrow bridges connect the radially outer portions and the radially inner portions of the rotor core. Permanent magnets are embedded in the slits. The embedded permanent magnets are magnetized in the direction of thickness of the slits.

  • Publication number: 20020051480
Abstract: A window is formed at a portion in a reflecting surface that surrounds a slab type solid-state laser oscillating medium, filler strips, and a flow tube. A laser diode is disposed outside the region surrounded by the reflecting surface. Excitation light emitted from the laser diode is injected into the region surrounded by the reflecting surface through a condenser lens and the window.

  • Publication number: 20020047409
Abstract: A system and method are used to assemble and fill an embedded magnet type rotor. The system and method prevent rotation of the rotor core within a manufacturing device as the rotor core is being filled and the embedded magnets are magnetically orientated. The embedded magnet type rotor is made by a process in which resinous magnet is filled in slits provided in a rotor core. In one embodiment, a recessed portion of the core in a shaft hole is engageable with a projecting portion of a core pin of a metallic mold for use in filling the resinous magnet to prevent rotation of the core. Other positioning devices are also used to prevent rotation.

  • Publication number: 20020041127
Abstract: To decrease torque ripples and cogging torque, a rotor for an electrical motor, an electrical generator, or the like, includes lengths of permanent magnets embedded in a plurality of slit sections in respective layers. In an embodiment having three layers, the permanent magnets have lengths L1, L2 and L3 in order as viewed from the outside circumference side of the rotor core and generate respective total magnetic fluxes of &PHgr;1, &PHgr;2, &PHgr;3, respectively, when the rotor is assembled in a rotary electric device. The lengths have a relation L1<L2<L3, and the magnetic fluxes have a relation &PHgr;1<&PHgr;2<&PHgr;3.
