    Abstract: The present invention discloses a mobility management method, a serving GPRS support node or mobility management entity (SGSN/MME), and a terminal to solve the problem of setting or dynamically modifying the mobility management frequency of a particular terminal among numerous terminals. The technical solution of the present invention includes: obtaining subscription data of a terminal, where the subscription data carries periodic routing area update or tracking area update (RAU/TAU) setting information; obtaining a periodic RAU/TAU timer of the terminal according to the periodic RAU/TAU setting information; sending the periodic RAU/TAU timer of the terminal to the terminal; and setting a value that is a little longer than the periodic RAU/TAU timer of the terminal as a mobile reachable timer for monitoring the periodic RAU/TAU of the terminal. The embodiments of the present invention may be applied in low-mobility machine-type communication.

In the embodiments of the present invention, the MSC negotiates the coding mode of the CS UE and the peer UE (such as an IMS UE), and sets up a multimedia call between the CS UE and the peer UE, thus overcoming the inability of setting up a multimedia call between the CS UE and the peer UE in the prior art.

The call control method includes these steps: a terminal device and a second party set up a call through a CS call leg set up between the terminal device and an IMS CS control function (ICCF) and a second call leg set up between the ICCF and the second party; and the ICCF receives a media type change request, and rejects the change of media type for the call between the terminal device and the second party if more than one session is available on the terminal device. Embodiments of the present invention avoid call failure upon session transfer due to the change of media type in the prior art, thus improving the reliability and stability of session transfer.

    Abstract: A method and a device for holding calls between networks are disclosed herein. The method includes: receiving a call hold request sent by a UE in a CS network, where the call hold request carries an indication that the UE in the CS network will continue sending media streams; and instructing a peer device to keep receiving the media streams from the UE in the CS network and stop sending the media streams. In the technical solution under the present invention, the UE in the CS network partially releases the radio resources after initiating the call hold operation, and therefore, the UE in the CS network can play local media files to the peer device after the call is held, thus saving network resources and improving the user experience.

The session processing method includes: when a first User Equipment (UE) is to set up an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) session with a second UE, triggering setup of an unstructured supplementary service data (USSD) transaction between a Circuit Switched (CS) network and the first UE; and sending, by using the USSD transaction, an I1 protocol message used to bear IMS session control signaling. With the technical solutions of the present invention, when a UE is to set up an IMS session, a USSD transaction is set up between the UE and the CS network; I1 protocol messages exchanged between the UE and the Service Centralization and Continuity (SCC) Application Server (AS) (SCC-AS) are sent reliably by using the USSD transaction, which facilitates reliable control over IMS services.

    Abstract: A multi-session transfer method, a call control device, and a Service Continuity and Continuity Application Server are disclosed. In the embodiments of the present invention, in a multi-session cross-network transfer process, if a second session to be transferred includes video media, a Mobile Switching Center (MSC) server judges capabilities of a current network. If the current network is incapable of transmitting video media, the MSC server sends a request for transferring voice media of the second session to be transferred. The SCC AS receives the transfer request, and converts the second session to be transferred into voice session for transferring or releases the second session to be transferred, and therefore, the problem in the prior art of incapability of transferring the session is avoided, and the cross-network multi-session service transfer is improved.

Further, a call continuity application server and a user equipment (UE) are provided. According to the present disclosure, in ringing/RBT or call hold, even if the network coverage is not good, the UE may also be handed over to another network through call continuity, so as to effectively prevent the UE from dropping a call in ringing/RBT or call hold and thus improve the conversation quality of the user.
