  • Patent number: 9083944
Abstract: An encoding apparatus encodes image data using a picture order count (POC) that indicates a display order of a picture. The encoding apparatus includes a remainder calculating unit that calculates a remainder by dividing an absolute frame number counted from an instantaneous decoding refresh (IDR) picture by a divisor which is a number of reference frames in one POC cycle, and a remainder code converting unit that coverts the remainder calculated by the remainder calculating unit into a code. A decoding apparatus decodes image data using the POC. The decoding apparatus includes a remainder extracting unit that, when random access decoding is performed, extracts a remainder by decoding a remainder code added to a picture at a random decoding start position, and an initializing unit that initializes an input value of a decoding process for the POC, by using the remainder extracted by the remainder extracting unit.

  • Publication number: 20130278823
Abstract: A processor converts an input video signal via a first filter, and outputs a video signal for a determination obtained by converting the video signal via a second filter. Both filters satisfy a stipulated condition. The processor calculates the degree of matching between the input video signal and the video signal for the determination. The processor determines whether or not the input video signal has been converted by using a filter that satisfies the stipulated condition in conversion at a preceding stage. The processor generates an encoded string by encoding the video signal in the second format converted via the first filter, and the determination result. In this way, whether or not and where a video is that converted by using a filter different from a stipulated filter can be automatically determined.

  • Patent number: 8405799
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to obtain a polymer-stabilized liquid crystal composition which can suppress dependency of a driving voltage on a temperature by decreasing the driving voltage. To a low-molecular liquid crystal compound, a chiral compound, and a specific acrylate and a polymerizable liquid crystal compound as polymerizable acrylate compounds are added, to prepare a polymer-stabilized liquid crystal composition. By subjecting the polymer-stabilized liquid crystal composition to ultraviolet exposure while maintaining a desired alignment state to form a polymer chain in a liquid crystal phase, a polymer-stabilized liquid crystal display device containing a low-molecular liquid crystal in a stabilized alignment state is obtained.
