  • Patent number: 10959226
Abstract: Techniques are described for preempting resource allocations to one or more UEs in the event that delay sensitive data is received. A resource allocation of a number of symbols may be granted to a first user equipment (UE) for first associated data to be transmitted. Subsequently, data may be received for a second UE that is more delay sensitive than the first data. The resource allocation to the first UE may be preempted, and resources allocated to the second UE for the second data within a variable length transmission time interval (TTI) of the resource allocation to the first UE. UEs may monitor for preemption during transmissions to other UEs in order to receive new resource grants associated with the preempted resource grant. Whether a UE monitors transmissions for preemption may be determined based on a quality or service (QoS) of the UE.

  • Publication number: 20210075691
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described, and relate to a base station to communicating with a user equipment (UE) over a channel. A first device (for example, the base station or the UE) may use a trained neural network to estimate one or more link performance metrics associated with the channel. Predicting the link level performance may include determining one or more neural network weights associated with one or more input parameters associated with the channel to estimate the one or more link performance metrics. The first device may report feedback to the second device based on the estimated link performance metrics. Based on the feedback, the second device may adapt the link by adjusting channel parameters to improve the reliability or efficacy of later transmissions.

  • Patent number: 10893509
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for wireless communication. A transmitting device may send a signal including multiple transport blocks corresponding to multiple simultaneous hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) processes. Additional control information may be used to support the multiple simultaneous HARQ processes. For instance, the additional control information may indicate the number of available HARQ processes, an activity state for each HARQ process (e.g., active new data, active retransmission, or inactive), and the redundancy versions of each HARQ process. In some cases, the additional control information may be included in a downlink grant. A receiving device may respond with an acknowledgement or negative acknowledgment (ACK/NACK) for each of the transport blocks. The transmitting device may identify a retransmission status for each HARQ process based on the ACK/NACKs, and transmit new redundancy versions (or new data) to the receiving device.

  • Patent number: 10856300
Abstract: A per-transmit time interval (TTI) rank control within a transmission opportunity (TxOP) is described for downlink coordinated multiple point (CoMP) operations. In operation, a base station may determine rank and data rate for communication during a transmission opportunity (TxOP) at the beginning of the TxOP. Each TxOP may include a plurality of transmission time intervals (TTIs). For each TTI of the TxOP, the base station computes one or more channel quality indicator (CQI) back-offs using one or more outer loop adaptation processes per TTI, and updates rank and the data rate using the CQI back-offs. Once updated, the base station transmits the downlink data during each TTI according to the updated rank and the data rate.

  • Patent number: 10841037
Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. In one configuration, the apparatus may be a UE. The UE determines an MCS that would facilitate interference suppression of an interfering first cell transmission from a first cell when decoding a second cell transmission from a second cell at the UE. The interfering first cell transmission is a transmission unintended for the UE. The second cell transmission is a transmission intended for the UE. The UE transmits information indicating the determined MCS for the first cell. The UE receives a transmission including the second cell transmission from the second cell and the interfering first cell transmission from the first cell. The UE demodulates and/or decodes the second cell transmission from the received transmission based on the determined MCS.

  • Patent number: 10841805
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. An access point of a secondary cluster may identify a first set of access points of a primary cluster scheduled to perform downlink transmissions over a shared radio frequency spectrum band during a transmission opportunity. The access point may identify a second set of access points and may select a first set of blacklisted stations associated with the secondary cluster for the transmission opportunity. In some cases, the selecting is based on the first set of access points and the second set of access points. The access point may then selectively perform at least one downlink transmission to a second set of stations associated with the secondary cluster during the transmission opportunity. In some examples, the second set of stations is based on the first set of blacklisted stations.

  • Patent number: 10833739
Abstract: Reference signal and transmitter (Tx)/receiver (Rx) precoding for user equipment (UE) multiplexing in new radio (NR) shared spectrum networks is discussed. In certain reference signals, a base station may schedule multiple UEs for transmission of uplink reference signals within an identified subframe. The base station may transmit a reference signal configuration message, wherein the reference signal configuration message includes a transmission sequence identifier identifying a multiplexing for antenna ports assigned for transmission of the uplink reference signals. The multiplexing may be one or both of frequency divisional multiplexing (FDM) and time division multiplexing (TDM) over the identified subframe. Additional reference signals, transmit precoders may be identified by the base station based on channel inversion calculations of the channel matrix determined based on uplink reference signals.

  • Patent number: 10834757
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to reserving resources in wireless communication systems, such as those employing listen before talk (LBT). The disclosed methods and apparatus employ a channel reservation preamble used in a sequence of burst or data packet transmissions. The preamble including a channel reservation indication is included in a first data packet transmitted from a first network node. The channel reservation indication is configured to indicate a transmission time reservation of channel resources covering the data packet containing the preamble, a second data packet to be received from a second network node responsive to the first data packet, and at least a portion of a third data packet transmitted from the first network node subsequent to the transmission of the second data packet. In this manner, over-reservation of channel resources is mitigated. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.

  • Patent number: 10820316
Abstract: Multiple base stations, which may be controlled by different network operators, share a transmission medium to serve multiple user equipment (UE). A first base station determines that the shared communication medium is free. The first base station transmits, during a first medium access slot on the shared communication medium, a pre-grant for a first UE associated with the first base station. The first UE transmits a response message during the first medium access slot. Optionally, a second base station may join the transmission by transmitting a pre-grant to a second UE during a subsequent medium access slot.

  • Patent number: 10772125
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and computer-readable medium at a transmitting network device or a target network device in a listen-before-talk (LBT) session that employ a spatial LBT procedure is disclosed. The spatial LBT procedure takes into account multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) configuration information in measuring an effective interference. Accordingly, the spatial LBT procedure enables the transmitting network device or the target network device to more accurately measure an interference and make a more accurate decision on whether a channel is clear, and thus improves the system-wide performance. Also, the spatial LBT procedure allows the transmitting network device or the target/receiving network device to adaptively adjust the LBT power detection threshold when the MIMO configuration is not available.
