  • Publication number: 20170328543
Abstract: An LED lighting device with an elongated lighting cavity formed by two opposed elongated curved or angled structures is disclosed. The opposed elongated curved or angled structures are positioned such that the concave surfaces or acute angles of the two opposed structures are juxtaposed with respect to each to form the elongated lighting cavity having elongated openings. The LED lighting device included arrays of LED light engines attached to one or more surfaces of one or more of the two opposed elongated structures within the lighting cavity to emit light from the elongated openings. In accordance with the embodiments of the invention the relative positions of the opposed elongated curved or angled structures are adjustable to change the lighting profile emitted from the elongated openings.

  • Publication number: 20170330007
Abstract: A reconfigurable sled for a mobile device with camera is provided. The reconfigurable sled may be moved into different configurations in order to facilitate either normal or specialized use. For example, in a first configuration, the mobile device's camera is unobstructed and imaging may proceed normally. In a second configuration, on the other hand, the camera's imaging direction may be repositioned by a reflective element in the camera's optical path. The reflective element provides feedback to the mobile device via visible markings that may be imaged by the camera and detected by the mobile device. If the mobile device determines that the mirror is in the optical path, then the mobile device may respond to accommodate the mirror and enable a function, like reading an indicium.

  • Publication number: 20170329041
Abstract: Methods of using capture gamma-ray spectroscopy for analyzing gravel-packs, frac-packs, and cement are disclosed herein. The methods can include distinguishing particles placed in a borehole region from particles placed in a subterranean formation outside of the borehole region, by utilizing a slurry comprising a liquid, particles, and a thermal neutron absorbing material to place the particles into the borehole region. The methods can also include obtaining first and second data sets by lowering into a borehole traversing the borehole region a pulsed neutron logging tool comprising a pulsed neutron source and a detector, emitting pulses of neutrons from the pulsed neutron source into the borehole region at intervals of one pulse per about 1,000 ?sec for the first data set and about one pulse per about 100 ?sec for the second data set, and detecting capture gamma rays resulting from nuclear reactions in the borehole and the subterranean formation.

  • Publication number: 20170329347
Abstract: Systems and methods for training a robot to autonomously travel a route. In one embodiment, a robot can detect an initial placement in an initialization location. Beginning from the initialization location, the robot can create a map of a navigable route and surrounding environment during a user-controlled demonstration of the navigable route. After the demonstration, the robot can later detect a second placement in the initialization location, and then autonomously navigate the navigable route. The robot can then subsequently detect errors associated with the created map. Methods and systems associated with the robot are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20170328682
Abstract: An ordnance munition is included in an intelligent ordnance projectile delivery system and equipped with targeting and guidance systems that allow the ordnance munition to collaborate with other devices to intelligently select targets and/or to guide the ordnance munition to its selected target. An ordnance munition may determine its approximate location, generate first location information that includes two or three-dimensional location values based on the determined approximate location, and send the generated information to a wireless transceiver in close proximity. In response, the ordnance munition may receive and use information from the wireless transceiver to determine its more precise location. The ordnance munition may generate second location information that includes two or three-dimensional location information based on the determined more precise location, and use the generated second location information to alter its flight path.

  • Publication number: 20170328023
Abstract: Disclosed is a rapidly deployable, above grade, low-thermal conducting, grillage-type foundation system made of composite materials, and erectable at or above grade for supporting structures like equipment shelters and communication masts. These units include generator sheds, communication shelters, fuel tanks, radio masts, and the like. The foundation system has one or more layers of beams laid at right angles to each other, and is used to disperse heavy point loads of a superstructure to an acceptable ground bearing pressure. Web stiffeners were affixed to foundation beams and vertical support members were fixed to the upper surface of the foundation beams, to stiffen the foundation and structure at every footing. The foundation is adapted to be installed with little site preparation, is easily transportable with a medium lift helicopter. Essentially, the foundation was engineered to only use steel in its assembly for the metal feet, angles, plates and the like.

  • Patent number: 9814611
Abstract: Sealable and repositionable implant devices are provided to increase the ability of endovascular grafts and valves to be precisely deployed or re-deployed, with better in situ accommodation to the local anatomy of the targeted recipient anatomic site, and with the ability for post-deployment adjustment to accommodate anatomic changes that might compromise the efficacy of the implant. A surgical implant includes a self-expanding stent of a shape-memory material set to a given shape. The stent has a wall with a portion having a first thickness and a second portion having a thickness greater than the first. The second portion defines a key-hole shaped longitudinal drive orifice. The implant includes a selectively adjustable assembly having adjustable elements and being operable to force a configuration change in at least a portion of the self-expanding stent. The adjustable elements have a part rotatably disposed within the longitudinal drive orifice.
