  • Publication number: 20170324724
Abstract: Systems and methods for performing DNSSEC signing are described in which digital signature operations may be performed by a network accessible signing server that is configured to interact with a separate client application. Exemplary methods may include receiving a signing request at the signing server from the client application to sign first data. The signing server may determine an active KSK and/or an active ZSK for the first data. The first data may then be transmitted by the signing server to a digital signature modules, which may include, for example, a hardware support module, or software signing applications. The signing server may receive a digitally signed version of the first data from the digital signature module, and provide the signed first data to the client application.

  • Publication number: 20170321833
Abstract: A probe seal for a female hydraulic coupling member has both internal and external pressure-energized seals. The outer wall or opposing ends of the seal have one or more pressure-energized seals for sealing between the body of the probe seal and the body of a coupling member in which the probe seal is installed. Annular, L-shaped, T-shaped or angled grooves in the inner wall of the seal form cavities and sealing projections that can be urged in an inward, radial direction by fluid pressure within an associated cavity to increase the sealing effectiveness between the body of the seal and the probe of a male hydraulic coupling member inserted in the receiving chamber of the female coupling member.

Abstract: Devices are provided to automatically access blood from beneath or within skin. These devices include an injector configured to drive a needle into the skin and subsequently to retract the needle from the skin. These devices additionally include a seal to which suction is applied. To drive the needle into the skin, the needle is first driven through the seal, creating at least one hole in the seal. The suction applied to the seal acts to draw blood from the puncture formed in the skin by the needle, through the at least one hole in the seal, and to a sensor, blood storage element, or other payload. These devices can be wearable and configured to automatically access blood from skin, for example, to access blood from the skin at one or more points in time while a wearer of a device is sleeping.

  • Publication number: 20170321797
Abstract: Installation of a bushing into the shift cable end of an automatic transmission, without replacing the entire shift cable end, is accomplished via methods and specialized tools that do not divert the force applied by compressive tools away from the non-load-bearing surfaces of the bushing and shift cable end, and maintain the axial alignment of the bushing with the shift cable end during installation, thus preventing deformation of the shift cable end and bushing during installation, and ensuring the proper coupling of the shift cable end and shift lever. In particular embodiments, a shift cable end protective member is secured to the shift cable end, a bushing installation member is inserted into the bushing, through the shift cable end and into the protective member, and a compressive force is applied simultaneously to the protective member and installation member, thus pressing the bushing into place within the shift cable end.

Abstract: Systems and methods for allocating electrical current among battery sets connected in a substantially parallel configuration. A respective state of health is determined for each respective battery set in a plurality of battery sets. The respective state of health reflects a respective present amount of total energy able to be stored by each respective battery set relative to a specification of the respective battery set. A respective allocation of electrical current for each battery set in the plurality of battery sets is determined based on the respective state of health for each respective battery set. A current flow through each respective battery set is configured to its respective allocation of electrical current based on determining the respective allocation.

  • Publication number: 20170320735
Abstract: In the synthesis of boron nitride nanotubes (BNNTs) via high temperature, high pressure methods, a boron feedstock may be elevated above its melting point in a nitrogen environment at an elevated pressure. Methods and apparatus for supporting the boron feedstock and subsequent boron melt are described that enhance BNNT synthesis. A target holder having a boron nitride interface layer thermally insulates the target holder from the boron melt. Using one or more lasers as a heat source, mirrors may be positioned to reflect and control the distribution of heat in the chamber. The flow of nitrogen gas in the chamber may be heated and controlled through heating elements and flow control baffles to enhance BNNT formation. Cooling systems and baffle elements may provide additional control of the BNNT production process.
