  • Patent number: 9810530
Abstract: Autofocus system (AF) employing, in addition to specified optical units, fringe projection and fringe detection systems (FPS, FDS) and specifically-configured data processing system. AFS is configured to project with FPS a sinusoidal fringe pattern, formed by a pattern source, on a substrate and to image the so projected pattern from substrate onto optical detector with FDS to form optical image from which topology of the substrate is defined as substrate moves relative to the projected pattern. Pattern source may include diffraction grating oriented that the projected pattern is inclined relative to direction of substrate scanning Topology profile is corrected for tilt of substrate, Goos-Hanchen errors, and for fringe-pattern-induced errors outside a chosen spatial-frequency range. To reduce errors of topology profile, at least five values of phase difference are used. AFS is configured to define temporal phase shifting in optical image without using any moving parts in the AFS.

The frame system has a transverse supporting frame supported by two vertical posts located one at each end of the supporting frame. Each post has an attachment for securing the top and bottom of the post at a plurality of locations along the length of the associated side structure and the supporting frame is raiseable with or without a vehicle loaded thereon and once raised is fixable to the posts at a chosen location for transport within the transportable structure. Each end of the support frame has an end plate for sliding up and down an inwardly facing surface on the adjacent vertical post as it is raised and lowered. At least one of the end plates has a telescopic connection with the remainder of the support frame.

  • Patent number: 9813924
Abstract: A dynamic spectrum arbitrage (DSA) system includes a dynamic spectrum policy controller (DPC) and a dynamic spectrum controller (DSC) that together dynamically manage the allocation and use of resources (e.g., spectrum resources) across different networks. As part of these operations, the DSC may generate a grid-map structure that includes a primary grid structure that identifies telecommunication cells in a geographical area, and monitor the locations of wireless devices with respect to the telecommunication cells of the grid-map structure to determine whether to initiate inter-network handover operations. The DSC may also receive updated information from the monitored wireless devices (e.g.

  • Patent number: 9810336
Abstract: A subsea hydraulic system comprises a dual (or dual action) check valve on a port for connection to a remotely operated vehicle (ROV). The check valve provides backpressure to flow in either direction. This keeps hydraulic fluid in the hydraulic system, and seawater out. If flow needs to return to the ROV, it may flow out the port, subject to a selected back pressure.

  • Patent number: 9812684
Abstract: An assembly for a vehicle includes a first member including a plurality of elastically deformable locating protrusions extending outward, and a second member defining a cavity extending inward and including a plurality of elastically deformable compression features disposed within the cavity. The locating protrusions of the first member are disposed within the cavity of the second member in press fit engagement with the compression features of the second member to secure the first member relative to the second member. The average of the elastic deformation between all of the locating protrusions of the first member and all of the compression features of the second member precisely aligns the first member relative to the second member. The assembly may include but is not limited to a multiple unit battery pack, a multiple unit fuel cell pack, a dashboard assembly or adjoining body panels.

  • Patent number: 9813600
Abstract: Techniques for automatically selecting from amongst multiple camera views available in a multi-camera system. In an aspect, one or more metrics are calculated for multiple camera views. The metrics may be used to identify one or more of the camera views as fulfilling a condition, in response to which a particular one of the camera views may be selected for display. For example, in a “select-better-view” strategy, the camera view associated with a more optimal image (e.g., better lighting, or absence of occlusion) is selected for display. In a “flag-diagnostic-view” strategy, the camera view associated with a less optimal image is displayed, e.g., to indicate that a particular camera may require user attention. Specific techniques for calculating metrics are further disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9812311
Abstract: An ion manipulation method and device is disclosed. The device includes a pair of substantially parallel surfaces. An array of inner electrodes is contained within, and extends substantially along the length of, each parallel surface. The device includes a first outer array of electrodes and a second outer array of electrodes. Each outer array of electrodes is positioned on either side of the inner electrodes, and is contained within and extends substantially along the length of each parallel surface. A DC voltage is applied to the first and second outer array of electrodes. A RF voltage, with a superimposed electric field, is applied to the inner electrodes by applying the DC voltages to each electrode. Ions either move between the parallel surfaces within an ion confinement area or along paths in the direction of the electric field, or can be trapped in the ion confinement area.

  • Patent number: 9808381
Abstract: A liquid absorbent structure is made by dry laying a fibrous web having incorporated therein a superabsorbent material, and applying an aqueous composite stabilizer to at least one surface of the web. The aqueous composite stabilizer imparts integrity to the resulting structure without substantially impairing the effectiveness of the superabsorbent material to absorb liquid while forming the absorbent structure without removing the water from aqueous composite stabilizer or drying out the absorbent structure. The absorbent composite absorbs the water from the aqueous composite stabilizer. The absorbent composite comprises about 70% by weight of a superabsorbent material.
