Abstract: Methods of forming a semiconductor device are provided by forming a gate pattern that includes a gate electrode on a substrate. Lightly doped impurity diffusion layers are formed in the substrate at both sides of the gate pattern. Spacers are formed on sidewalls of the gate pattern. The spacers having a bottom width. Impurity ions are implanted using the gate pattern and the spacer as a mask to form a heavily doped impurity diffusion layer in the substrate. The spacers are removed. A conformal etch stop layer is formed on the gate pattern and the substrate. The etch stop layer is formed to a thickness of at least the bottom width of the spacers.

  • Publication number: 20040120242
Abstract: An optical pickup using a two-wavelength light source module includes a light source module, a collimating lens, and a first optical element. The light source module includes first and second light sources which emit first and second light beams of different wavelengths and are formed in a single package. The collimating lens directs the first and/or second light beams into convergent light or divergent light so that the convergent light or the divergent light is incident on the objective lens. The optical pickup is a finite optical system due to the collimating lens. The first optical element is disposed on the traveling paths of the first and second light beams, operates as a lens only for one of the first and second light beams, and corrects a position difference between the first and second light sources along a traveling direction of light.

  • Publication number: 20040120648
Abstract: Disclosed herein are a SSC integrated optical device and a method of manufacturing the same. When a taper waveguide in a SSC region is formed, a width and a thickness are controlled exactly by means of a selective wet etch method. In particular, a start portion of the taper waveguide is formed to have a mesa structure or a reverse-mesa structure. Accordingly, it is possible to control process parameters reproducibly, reduce the cost for an optical alignment and improve an optical coupling efficiency and quantum efficiency remarkably.

  • Patent number: 6753382
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) rubber latex, and the acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) latex is prepared by graft-polymerizing butadiene rubber with the monomers of acrlylonitrile and styrene through emulsion-polymerization, so that the ABS rubber latex of the present invention has high solid content. The method of ABS rubber latex of the present invention comprises the step of emulsion-polymerizing i) polybutadiene rubber latex; ii) aromatic vinyl compound; and iii) vinyl cyanide with the addition of a reactive emulsifier. According to the method of the present invention, the ABS rubber latex has high solid content due to a decrease in the amount of coagulated materials and film, which formed on the rubber latex during polymerization, and an increase in the production volume.

  • Publication number: 20040114691
Abstract: A data communication apparatus and method based on OFDMA are provided. In a first user transmitting unit through which a user transmits user information to a base station in units of first symbol blocks each including M symbols, a first encoder generates a first sub-block composed of Mu user symbols for a u-th user by encoding the user information. A first block repeater repeats the first sub-block Lu times to generate M symbols. A first multiplier multiplies the M symbols by &ggr;u exp(j2&pgr;kmu/M) and outputs a u-th user signal. A first cyclic extension symbol inserter inserts a cyclic extension symbol into the u-th user signal and generates a single complete first symbol block. Accordingly, data transmission speed can be freely changed, a very small PAR can be provided, influence of the signal interference is greatly reduced, interference occurring between received blocks due to channels can be prevented, and distortion between channels can be effectively compensated for.

  • Patent number: 6750725
Abstract: An apparatus for detecting a phase error for a system such as a CD or a DVD having a multi-level input signal with an irregular zero crossing shift, and a phase locked loop circuit using the same. An A/D converter digitizes a signal read from the CD or the DVD. A phase error detect unit detects a zero crossing of the digital signal consecutively input from the A/D converter, and detects a timing error from a signal corresponding to the detected zero crossing. An error correction unit corrects a sampling timing error of the A/D converter by shifting a phase corresponding to the timing error input from the phase error detect unit. An apparatus for detecting a timing error having a tracking function reduces the amount of normal jitter and a dispersion value of the timing error in accordance with a signal to noise ratio.
