  • Publication number: 20200152071
Abstract: Route planning and movement of an aircraft on the ground based on a navigation model trained to improve aircraft operational efficiency is provided herein. A system comprises a memory that stores executable components and a processor, operatively coupled to the memory, that executes the executable components that comprise an assessment component, a sensor component, and a route planning component. The assessment component accesses runway data, taxiway data, and gate configuration data associated with an airport. The sensor component collects, from a plurality of sensors, sensor data related to performance data of an aircraft and respective conditions of the runway, the taxiway, and the gate configuration data. The route planning component employs a navigation model that is trained to analyze the sensor data, the runway data, the taxiway data, and the gate configuration data, and generate a taxiing protocol to navigate the aircraft to improve aircraft operational efficiency.

  • Publication number: 20200132665
Abstract: This patent relates to a method of detecting in vitro the proarrhythmogenic risk of a drug candidate performed on human induced pluripotent stem cell-derived cardiomyocytes (hiPSC-CM), where the experimental measurements and recordings of at least five ion currents and of externally paced action potentials (AP) are carried out on a high-performance automated patch-clamp platform before and after application of the candidate drug, and an advanced cardiomyocyte electrophysiology mathematical model is used to accurately reproduce the shape of experimentally recorded externally paced action potential and to generate a restauration stimulus file including the sum of ion currents inhibited by the drug to be applied to the hiPSC-CM in order to restore the initial externally paced action potential, and further used to compute metrics predictive of said proarrhythmogenic risk.

  • Patent number: 10634919
Abstract: Systems, devices, and methods for optical waveguides that are well-suited for use in wearable heads-up displays (WHUDs) are described. An optical device comprises an optical waveguide including a volume of optically transparent material having a first longitudinal surface positioned opposite a second longitudinal surface across a width of the volume, an in-coupler, a liquid crystal out-coupler, and a controller to modulate a refractive index of the liquid crystal out-coupler. Light is in-coupled into the waveguide and is propagated along a length of the waveguide by total internal reflection between the longitudinal surfaces before being out-coupled by the liquid crystal out-coupler on a path that is dependent on the modulated refractive index of the liquid crystal out-coupler. In this way, light signals can be steered to create an image and/or to move an exit pupil of an image. WHUDs that employ such optical waveguides are also described.

  • Patent number: 10571617
Abstract: Systems, devices, and methods that implement waveguides in curved transparent combiners that are well-suited for use in wearable heads-up displays (WHUDs) are described. Waveguide structures with in-couplers and out-couplers are integrated with curved eyeglass lenses to provide transparent combiners that substantially match the shape, size, and geometry of conventional eyeglass lenses and can, in some implementations, embody prescription curvatures to serve as prescription eyeglass lenses. The waveguides and in-/out-couplers are planar or curved depending on the implementation. WHUDs that employ such curved transparent combiners are also described.

  • Patent number: 10553141
Abstract: A system for maintaining a substantially constant display white point over an extended period of operation of a color display formed by an array of multiple pixels in which each of the pixels includes multiple subpixels having different colors, and each of the subpixels includes a light emissive device. The display is generated by energizing the subpixels of successively selected pixels, and the color of each selected pixel is controlled by the relatives levels of energization of the subpixels in the selected pixel. The degradation behavior of the subpixels in each pixel is determined, and the relative levels of energization of the subpixels in each pixel are adjusted to adjust the brightness shares of the subpixels to compensate for the degradation behavior of the subpixels. The brightness shares are preferably adjusted to maintain a substantially constant display white point.

  • Publication number: 20190392163
Abstract: Systems, devices, and methods are disclosed for enabling private communication between head-mounted displays. A first user dons a first head-mounted display. The first head-mounted display authenticates that the first user is authorized to view information displayed by the first head-mounted display. In response to positive authentication, the first head-mounted display displays the information to the first user. The first user inputs a selection command via an input interface, such as, for example, gazing at particular information, to select some of the displayed information. The first head-mounted display generates a message based on the user selection, which may be encrypted by the first head-mounted display prior to transmission. The first head-mounted display transmits the message to a second head-mounted display, such that the second head-mounted display displays the message to an eye of a second user wearing the second head-mounted display.
