  • Patent number: 10508777
Abstract: Retrofit kits for retrofitting LED light engines into existing light fixture housings. The retrofit kit includes a hook bracket that may be mounted in the housing and from which an end of the LED light engine can be suspended so as to permit an installer to electrically connect the LED light engine. The retrofit kit also includes a mounting bracket to secure the free end of the LED light engine into the housing after the LED light engine has been rotated upwardly into the housing from the hanging position.

  • Patent number: 10327312
Abstract: A Bluetooth beacon for a luminaire assembly includes a module and an antenna associated with the module. The Bluetooth beacon is monted such that the antenna is communicatively visible from a light emitting side of the luminaire assembly. The Bluetooth beacon is configured to provide a signal extending a predetermined distance from the luminaire assembly such that a Bluetooth receiver on a user device can receive a signal from the Bluetooth beacon.

  • Patent number: 10267497
Abstract: Described are embodiments of a light engine installation kit and methods of installation that allow a single technician to install large, heavy, or awkwardly shaped light engines into new or existing fixture housings. The installation kits include mounting brackets that install into the fixture housing. The mounting brackets can then support the light engine by a retention tab at one end, and a tether at the other. In this intermediate position, an installer can complete the wiring before raising the light engine into its final position. Also described are lenses, wireway covers, reflectors, and end caps that provide improved sealing of the lens compartment of a light engine. The fitting of the parts provides better sealing to prevent dirt, debris, or insects from migrating into the lens compartment of the light engine and causing reduced light output or unsightly dark spots in the lens.

  • Publication number: 20190087471
Abstract: A system, method and computer-readable medium for modeling relationships between query responses in a data set including receiving a selection of one or more first queries and one or more second queries, receiving a selection of one or more first strings and one or more second strings, determining one or more representative values corresponding to one or more intersections, each intersection corresponding to a unique combination of a first query, at least one second query, a first string, and at least one second string, and generating a three-dimensional representation including one or more indicators corresponding to the one or more intersections, a visual attribute of each indicator in the one or more indicators reflecting a representative value corresponding to that intersection and the one or more indicators being organized within the three-dimensional representation along three axes.

  • Publication number: 20190086209
Abstract: A celestial navigation system includes an optical device for receiving light from a celestial object, a spectrometer for measuring a spectrum of the light in sufficient detail to identify absorption and/or emission features, and a processor for processing the spectrum to match the spectrum, or a processed version thereof, against a set of reference spectra information in a database, a device for measuring the pointing direction of the optical device and a clock. The matching may be on a maximum likelihood basis. The system is thus able, on identification of a single star, and, using commonly available navigational almanacs, to calculate a geographical position. Celestial navigation takes place even when only one celestial object (that is also within the database) is visible, although improved accuracy may be obtained with multiple observations. Advantageously, the database includes stars of the K and/or M type, that have more characteristic spectral content.

  • Publication number: 20180306417
Abstract: A retrofit kit for a light fixture includes a light engine and a mounting bracket. In some aspects, a method of installing the retrofit kit in a light fixture includes installing a mounting bracket in a housing of the light fixture, and placing a light engine in a temporary hanging position. In the temporary hanging position, a hook of a first engine flange of the light engine rests on the mounting bracket and a second engine flange of the light engine opposite from the first engine flange is spaced apart from the mounting bracket.

  • Patent number: 10087936
Abstract: A compressor may include first and second scrolls, a seal assembly and a valve ring. The first scroll may include a first end plate having a discharge passage, a modulation port, and a biasing passage. The modulation port may be in communication with a first pocket formed between spiral wraps of the first and second scrolls. The biasing passage may be in communication with a second pocket formed between spiral wraps of the first and second scrolls. The modulation valve ring is axially displaceable relative to the seal assembly and the first scroll between first and second positions. The valve ring may abut an end plate of the first scroll and close the modulation port when in the first position. The valve ring may abut an axially-facing surface of the seal assembly and is spaced apart from the end plate to open the modulation port when in the second position.
