Abstract: A method generates hierarchical path index keys for single and multiple indexes with one scan of a document. Each data node of the document is scanned and matches to query nodes are identified. A data node matches a query node if the three conditions hold: if it is not the root step, there is a match for the query node in the previous step of the query; the data node matches the query node of the current step; and the edges of the data and query nodes match. A sub-tree of a data node can be skipped if the data node is not matched and its level is less than the fixed levels of the query. The matched data node is then placed in the match stacks corresponding to the match query nodes. The method uses transitivity properties among matching units to reduce the number of states that need to be tracked and to improve the evaluation of path expressions significantly.

Abstract: An induction key input method to improve input accuracy includes at least the following steps: corresponding a movement of an induction key to at least one character table; displaying a character table on a screen according to different conditions when a user's finger touches the surface of the induction key; and indicating a different differential mark on a selected character on the character table after the character represented, by the induction key on a specific location is touched by the finger. Through the method input accuracy can be enhanced and user's viewing frequency of the keys can be reduced.

Abstract: A device and method are provided for wearing a shoe cover onto a shoe without using hands. The device has a guiding system constructed in two parts. The first part is a disposable shift rail installed inside a package of shoe covers. The second part is a stretching path joining to the shift rail. With the guiding system, a reliable control of shoe cover movement is established.

Abstract: A method and system for efficiently identifying materialized view candidates for queries filters materialized views using certain criteria, using the materialized view signatures. This filtering rejects some of the unqualified materialized views prior to the performance of the query rewrite matching algorithm, resulting in a group of materialized view candidates. The query rewrite matching algorithm is then performed on the materialized view candidates. By first filtering the materialized views based on their signatures, the number of materialized views on which the query rewrite matching algorithm is performed is significantly reduced, improving performance.

For each group, aggregate element structures are formed from the intermediate result structures and, if the aggregate function specifies ordering, the aggregate element structures are sorted based on a sort key.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a touch inductive key, and more particularly to a key that is able to give out a response prompt when senses finger touching it so as to improve the input accuracy and decrease the frequency user required glancing at the key. The key is a pressure activated key, which comprises a key entity, and a touch inductive panel on top of the key entity connecting to a response system so that it is able to allow the user to know the character of the key under the finger through the response prompt generated by the response system when he or she touches the touch inductive panel so as to improve the inputting accuracy and decrease the frequency of glancing at the keys.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a micro-keyboard simulator, and more particularly to a micro-keyboard simulator whose operating surface for inputting commands includes two pressure inductive stages. It comprises a first pressure inductive device and a second pressure inductive device, wherein the first pressure inductive device is capable of detecting finger touch and analyzing coordinates and connects to a mainframe so as to display at least one symbol table on the monitor and the symbols of the symbol table are mutually corresponding to the surface coordinates of the micro-keyboard simulator; and the second pressure inductive device is capable of detecting the press-down action of the finger. Through the abovementioned combination, it greatly reduces the volume of the keyboard and is able to know the pressed character in advance so as to reduce the frequency of the user glancing at the keyboard.

The data source of the destination file may be retrieved by E-mail. The destination file data are downloaded by radio transmission or through a memory card into a memory unit of a navigation host to enable the navigation host to perform navigation route planning thereby to overcome the problem of inadequate data or poor usability occurred to the conventional route planning.

Abstract: A method for detecting vehicle speed detects existing noise frequency of vehicle power supply and vehicle acceleration value, and compares and processes the detected data to estimate the final vehicle speed. The method includes the procedure of (1) detecting power supply noise frequency and converting to engine speed; (2) detecting acceleration value; (3) comparing the engine speed and the vehicle speed; and (4) selecting the final vehicle speed. By means of the procedure of the invention, the vehicle speed may be provided to the vehicle navigation apparatus to continuously perform navigation during the brief period when the GPS signals are lost.

Abstract: A method for accelerating reprocessing of a navigation route to update the navigation route includes the procedures of (1) activating reprocessing, (2) comparing route nodes, (3) integrating the navigation routes, (4) updating the navigation route. The method does not have to repeat the entire navigation process occurred to the conventional navigation system and can rapidly update the new navigation route.

Abstract: A control method capable of remembering display angle includes a circuit module which has a file access unit, a memory unit, a file adjustment unit and an image output unit. The control method includes: checking a selected symbol in at least one selected bit of the file name or data in a file while the file access unit loads an image to confirm whether the image needed to be adjusted during displaying on the screen to free users from the trouble of adjusting manually during viewing the image.

Abstract: A hydrophobic liquid is utilized to enable direct sample loading from reactions tubes to gel sample wells without using loading buffer in horizontal gel electrophoresis. Aqueous samples stays in sample wells under a layer of hydrophobic liquid. Sample preparation step prior to electrophoresis is omitted.

At least one set of the audio output channels is connected to an independent speaker set and one set or more is connected to an audio input device of a vehicle stereo which amplifies and broadcast through the vehicle stereo speaker set. Users can get navigation instructions from the independent speaker set or select the vehicle stereo to execute navigation or simultaneously broadcast multimedia audio.

Abstract: A remote-end route-calculating navigation system particularly relates to a system which is not equipped with expensive or costly navigation equipment for a navigation requester to acquire complete and instant navigation information therefrom. It is mainly made up of an information center in cooperation with a plurality of navigation requesters. The information center includes at least a main information unit having an electronic map and route calculating and navigating software, and a communication device capable of transmitting/receiving phonic and digital information. The navigation requester includes a satellite positioning device and a communication device storing the telephone number of the information center and the address of the digital information network so as to provide complete information for navigation requesters.
