  • Patent number: 10095529
Abstract: When an application is booted, a font that will be used with the application is identified and it is determined whether the identified font it locally available to the device. If not, a request to a remote font service is automatically generated, and the identified font is downloaded based upon the detected application boot. The device then finishes booting the application.

  • Publication number: 20180121633
Abstract: Computer-implemented methods and systems are provided digital content data over a network. In accordance with one implementation, a method is provided that includes: generating, in response to a download request for digital content data, a download address for the digital content data, and transmitting the download address to a client; authenticating, at a content server, the download request; downloading, over the network to the client, the digital content data after the download address is authenticated; receiving, from the client, a request for a license to access and playback the downloaded digital content data; authenticating, at an application server, the license request; and providing, to the client device, the license for the digital content data after the license request is authenticated, the license enabling the client device to access and playback the digital content data.

  • Publication number: 20180096301
Abstract: A report generating computing device for generating a report based on operational stage rules that are applied sequentially is provided. The computing device includes a processor that is configured to retrieve operational stage data that includes sets of rules defining changes to one or more attributes of a component of the report. The processor is configured to determine a first and a second set of rules associated with corresponding operational stages. The execution of the second set of rules supplement or override the attributes resulting from the first set of rules. The processor is configured to determine a report definition for the component based on the implementation of the sets of rules, to retrieve one or more data records indicated in the determined report definition for the component of the report, and to generate the component of the report based on the report definition and the retrieved database records.

  • Publication number: 20180038164
Abstract: Systems and methods divide flow in a wellbore into a plurality of flow paths. A first one of the flow paths extends to a down-hole turbine that is responsive to fluid flow to provide rotational motion to an electric generator or other down-hole tool. A second flow path may extend to an independent down-hole tool, to a port communicating with the wellbore, to a bypass channel extending around the turbine, or to any other down-hole location. The turbine includes a stator having adjustable blades such that an open flow area through the turbine may be selectively controlled. A flow distribution between the first and second flow paths can be controlled where specific flow areas are needed at specific flow rates, for example.

  • Publication number: 20180038197
Abstract: A downhole tool including multiple orifices defining at least a first and a second flow path, and a valve that adjusts to change a ratio of fluid flow between the first and second flow paths, the valve being offset from the multiple orifices by a gap that is adjustable to customize a sensitivity of the change to each adjustment. A method for regulating flow along a first fluid path in a downhole tool includes adjusting a valve relative to multiple orifices that define the first fluid path and a second fluid path, said adjusting changing a ratio of fluid flow between the first and second flow paths, and adjusting a gap between the valve and the multiple orifices to modify a sensitivity of the change to each adjustment.

  • Patent number: 9886566
Abstract: Digital content distribution systems and methods are provided for distributing for digital data files, such as digital audio and video data files. In accordance with one implementation, a token-based authentication system is provided that does not require knowledge of the individual user requesting the download of digital content data or real-time access to user account information. Instead, the token-based authentication system embeds the authentication information, or token, in the download request information itself. In this way, the download or content server authenticates the download request using the token contained in the download request information and therefore does not require any additional information to carry out this authentication, such as access to user account information.

  • Patent number: 9881428
Abstract: Vehicle data may be analyzed to predict potential component failures, diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), or other mechanical failures relating to the vehicle. In one implementation the vehicle data may be received from a number of vehicles, the vehicle data including DTCs generated by on-board diagnostic (OBD) systems of the vehicles. The vehicle data may be evaluated using a predictive model to output predictions of DTCs that are likely to occur for a particular vehicle.
