Abstract: A digital audio gateway device for use in a wireless network of digital audio playback devices. The gateway device is wirelessly linked to one or more digital audio playback devices to provide a gateway to the Internet for the digital audio playback devices. In addition to functioning as a gateway, the device provides additional functionality and may act as a cache of digital audio data for the various digital audio players connected in the wireless network and may also act to automatically update digital audio content on the audio players, synchronize digital audio content and playlists between the digital audio players and continue automatically or upon user request a particular playlist as the user moves from one digital audio player to another.

Abstract: An autoscaling system for scaling resource instances in a cloud network includes a processor and memory. An autoscaling application is stored in memory and executed by the processor and is configured to provide an interface to define an autoscale policy for a plurality of different types of resource instances. The autoscale policy at least one of defines minimum and maximum values for at least one of a capacity and a resource instance count for the plurality of different types of the resource instances using a common protocol and defines metric-based rules for the plurality of different types of the resource instances using the common protocol. The autoscaling application at least one of scales in or scales out the plurality of different types of the resource instances based on the autoscale policy.

Abstract: A processing device and method for generating data reports from a data stream are provided. The processing device may include an analyzer that may identify a data record by detecting a start record event indicator and an end record event indicator within the data stream, the start and end record event indicators representing a start and an end of the respective data record, an extractor that may extract data of the identified data record from the data stream based on the start record event indicator and the end record event indicator, and a generator configured to generate, based on the event indicator, one or more events, wherein an event handler handles the one or more events to process the data record for inclusion into the data report.

Abstract: An embodiment of the invention provides a method for reducing data corruption in a wireless power transmission system. Power is transmitted from a primary coil to a secondary coil by induction. The voltage induced on the secondary coil by induction is rectified. The change in current supplied to a load configured to be coupled to the wireless power transmission system is limited.

Abstract: When an application is booted, a font that will be used with the application is identified and it is determined whether the identified font it locally available to the device. If not, a request to a remote font service is automatically generated, and the identified font is downloaded based upon the detected application boot. The device then finishes booting the application.

A first one of the flow paths extends to a down-hole turbine that is responsive to fluid flow to provide rotational motion to an electric generator or other down-hole tool. A second flow path may extend to an independent down-hole tool, to a port communicating with the wellbore, to a bypass channel extending around the turbine, or to any other down-hole location. The turbine includes a stator having adjustable blades such that an open flow area through the turbine may be selectively controlled. A flow distribution between the first and second flow paths can be controlled where specific flow areas are needed at specific flow rates, for example.

Abstract: A downhole tool including multiple orifices defining at least a first and a second flow path, and a valve that adjusts to change a ratio of fluid flow between the first and second flow paths, the valve being offset from the multiple orifices by a gap that is adjustable to customize a sensitivity of the change to each adjustment. A method for regulating flow along a first fluid path in a downhole tool includes adjusting a valve relative to multiple orifices that define the first fluid path and a second fluid path, said adjusting changing a ratio of fluid flow between the first and second flow paths, and adjusting a gap between the valve and the multiple orifices to modify a sensitivity of the change to each adjustment.

Abstract: Digital content distribution systems and methods are provided for distributing for digital data files, such as digital audio and video data files. In accordance with one implementation, a token-based authentication system is provided that does not require knowledge of the individual user requesting the download of digital content data or real-time access to user account information. Instead, the token-based authentication system embeds the authentication information, or token, in the download request information itself. In this way, the download or content server authenticates the download request using the token contained in the download request information and therefore does not require any additional information to carry out this authentication, such as access to user account information.

Abstract: Vehicle data may be analyzed to predict potential component failures, diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), or other mechanical failures relating to the vehicle. In one implementation the vehicle data may be received from a number of vehicles, the vehicle data including DTCs generated by on-board diagnostic (OBD) systems of the vehicles.
