  • Publication number: 20170292713
Abstract: A system and method for controlling the humidity in a cooking chamber of an oven appliance is provided. The oven appliance includes a cooking chamber, a cooling air flow passageway positioned outside the cooking chamber, a cooling fan positioned in the cooling air flow passageway, and a vent enabling flow communication between the cooking chamber and cooling air flow passageway. One or more humidity sensors may be placed in or around the oven appliance to measure the humidity of the ambient air and the humidity of the air in the cooking chamber. A controller may achieve improved humidity control of the cooking chamber by selectively operating the cooling fan to adjust the humidity within the cooking chamber based on the measured humidity of the ambient air and the air in the cooking chamber.

  • Patent number: 9752500
Abstract: A gas turbine engine including at least one high pressure turbine rotor and at least one high pressure compressor rotor drivingly engaged to a rotatable high pressure spool, a low pressure spool rotatable independently of the high pressure spool, at least one low pressure turbine rotor drivingly engaged to the low pressure spool, and a rotatable load drivingly engaged to the low pressure spool. A fixed rotational speed ratio is defined between rotational speeds of the at high pressure turbine and compressor rotors. A fixed rotational speed ratio is defined between rotational speeds of the low pressure turbine rotor(s) and of the low pressure spool. A low pressure compressor rotor is in driving engagement with the low pressure spool through a variable transmission which defines a variable rotational speed ratio between the rotational speeds of the low pressure spool and of the low pressure compressor rotor.

  • Publication number: 20170159362
Abstract: Directional control of a rotary steerable drilling assembly can be facilitated by a flow control module for maintaining a geostationary position or orientation of components of the assembly. The drilling assembly can include a bit shaft and an offset mandrel for adjusting a longitudinal axis of the bit shaft. A drive mechanism can rotate the offset mandrel independently of the bit shaft to maintain the offset mandrel in a geostationary position or orientation relative to a formation of the earth and/or a wellbore. A flow control module controllably directs a fluid flow to the drive mechanism. The flow control module can include an inner body and an outer body, defining an annulus there between and one or more blades within the annulus, each of the blades being rotatable to provide a range of angles with respect to a longitudinal axis of the flow control module.

  • Patent number: 9589442
Abstract: Techniques described herein relate to the classification of fall events for PER (personal emergency response) devices. In one implementation, data relating to acceleration events that occurred at the PER devices may be received. The data relating to the acceleration events may be associated with indications of whether the acceleration events correspond to fall events of users of the PER devices. A classification model may be trained based on the data relating to the acceleration events and the indications of whether the data relating to the acceleration events corresponds to the fall events. The classification model may be transmitted to at least some of the PER devices to update a previous version of the classification model at the at least some of the PER devices.

  • Publication number: 20160300043
Abstract: Digital content distribution systems and methods are provided for distributing for digital data files, such as digital audio and video data files. In accordance with one implementation, a token-based authentication system is provided that does not require knowledge of the individual user requesting the download of digital content data or real-time access to user account information. Instead, the token-based authentication system embeds the authentication information, or token, in the download request information itself. In this way, the download or content server authenticates the download request using the token contained in the download request information and therefore does not require any additional information to carry out this authentication, such as access to user account information.
