  • Patent number: 11524231
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for online game streaming includes receiving a request from a remote client to access a user account. The request is received at a hosting service that includes one or more servers and identifies digital content including video games available to the user. Selection of a video game is received by the hosting service from the remote client. In response, the hosting service initiates a data rate test of the remote client to identify a maximum available data rate available between the remote client and one or more servers of the hosting service. The data rate test is performed to identify an active data rate for streaming interactive content of the video game. The method also includes assigning the remote client to a server and setting the compression level to attain the active data rate having packet loss and latency that is within a predefined acceptable level.

  • Patent number: 11426656
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for online game streaming is provided, which includes receiving a request from a remote client to access a user account. The user account identifies information regarding the user and digital content available for the user to access from the remote client. The request is received over an Internet connection at a hosting service that includes one or more servers and the digital content including a video game. The method includes receiving selection of the game by the hosting service from the remote client and initiating a data rate test of the remote client. The data rate test identifies a maximum available data rate between the remote client and one or more servers of the hosting service. The data rate test includes gradually increasingly the data rate and then gradually decreasing the data rate to identify an active data rate for streaming interactive content of the video game.

  • Patent number: 11336926
Abstract: A method and system are provided for streaming a video game from a server to a client. One example system includes the server configured to generate video frames for the video game responsive to input received from the client. An encoder that processes the video frames to generate compressed video frames and storing past encoder states in memory associated with the encoder. The server is configured to transmit the compressed video frames to the client. The server is configured to receive a feedback signal from the client to determine when one or more of the compressed video frames that were sent were not been received by the client. The encoder is configured to generate one or more next video frames as compressed video frames that are dependent on compressed video frames that are known to have been successfully received based on the feedback signal.

  • Patent number: 11309943
Abstract: A system and method are described which enable planned evolution and obsolescence of multiuser wireless spectrum. One embodiment of such a system includes one or multiple centralized processors and one or multiple distributed nodes that communicate via wireline or wireless connections. The distributed nodes may share their identification number and other reconfigurable system parameters with the centralized processor. The information about all distributed nodes may be stored in a database that is shared by all centralized processors. The reconfigurable system parameters may comprise power emission, frequency band, modulation/coding scheme. The distributed nodes may be software defined radios such as FPGA, DSP, GPU and/or GPCPU that run algorithms for baseband signal processing and may be reconfigured remotely by the centralized processor. A cloud wireless system may be used wherein the distributed nodes are reconfigured periodically or instantly to adjust to the evolving wireless architecture.

  • Patent number: 11298612
Abstract: A method by which a streaming interactive video user session is handed off from one streaming interactive video server to another without noticeable disruption to the video stream or the user interactivity. A compression technique utilized includes executing a video game on a game server to generate a stream of uncompressed streaming interactive video for a first player participating in a multiplayer session of the video game; receiving input commands at the game server over a network, wherein the input commands provide instructions for executing the video game in association with the first player and are generated from an input device of the first player; and compressing video frames associated with the execution of the video game at the first game server using tiles, wherein one tile from each video frame is encoded as an I tile, and remaining tiles in the corresponding video frame are encoded as P tiles.
