  • Patent number: 9463531
Abstract: A method for forming the cutting edge and adjacent contoured surface area of rotary cutting tools utilizing a laser to remove material from the cutting end of the tool to create a predetermined point-by-point geometry is disclosed. Relatively complex surface and edge geometries may be formed by directing a laser beam toward the cutting end of the tool at an angle having a component that is normal to the surface of the cutting end. The laser beam is directed in multiple passes across the surface of the cutting end to remove material and form the desired cutting edge and adjacent three-dimensional contoured surface geometry.

  • Patent number: 9396331
Abstract: Systems and methods for security management based on cursor events. Click coordinates on a webpage of user's activity are logged in order to detect multiple or repeated transactions that bare the same exact coordinates. Such multiple or repeated activity may be helpful in detecting scripted attacks or bot net activity in a variety of environments and transactions. Further, the invention may also capture the coordinates of the location of submit buttons, and similar buttons, on a webpage to analyze whether a click action or other pointer action occurred within the button's parameters.

  • Patent number: 9388746
Abstract: Embodiments for generating vacuum at a throttle are presented. In one example, a system comprises a throttle positioned in an intake of an engine, and a peripheral venturi proximate the throttle, the venturi having an inlet positioned to interface with an edge of the throttle when the throttle is in a partially open position. In this way, vacuum may be generated by flow air through the venturi.

  • Publication number: 20150366735
Abstract: An item of clothing is adapted to be worn against the skin, and comprises at least one panel adapted to provide targeted compression of at least 20% of the total length of a specific surface vein in the body, or adapted to provide targeted compression of at least 20% of a specific plexus of veins, a specific lymphatic plexus, drainage plexus or a collection of lymphatic vessels. The clothing is useful in a method of reducing recovery time in a human or other mammal, after a period of activity and in a method of enhancing performance, in particular sports performance, in a human or other mammal. • Patent number: 9216574
Abstract: In an ink jet printer (2), where there is relative movement between a print carriage (4) and a print table (6) to print on to a substrate mounted on the table (6), the gradient of the print table at each position of the print carriage (4) is used to produce a compensated position of the print carriage (4), and printing data is sent to the print head according to the compensated position instead of the actual position. This delays or advances the release of ink, to compensate for the difference in the time taken for the ink to reach a substrate mounted on the print table (6) when the print gap between print heads and print table (6) is not constant.

  • Publication number: 20150360135
Abstract: A standardized hardware stand for organizing the components and subcomponents of helicopter retention plates is provided. The hardware stand could be adapted to be distributed to all air stations so that a repeatable, teachable skill set can be developed, minimizing costly vibratory analysis, problematic clamp-up procedures, and other unnecessary additional maintenance during re-installation of the helicopter retention plates. The hardware stand includes a mock plate forming a plurality of mimicking holes and identifying marks, each dimensioned and adapted to match that of each retention plate maintained, and wherein the mock plate is perpendicularly and rotatably joined to an attachments stem.

  • Patent number: 9204799
Abstract: A sensor suitable for measuring the pressure applied by a bandage, the sensor being in the form of an elongate strip having a plurality of pads arranged along its length, wherein the sensor includes a connection to each pad, whereby the pressure applied to each pad can be determined independently, wherein each pad is inflatable to form an expanded pad protruding above the surface of the strip, and deflatable so that it does not impede removal of the sensor from the bandage. Such a sensor is primarily intended for single use, i.e. is disposable.

  • Patent number: 9108368
Abstract: There is described an apparatus and method for transporting contact lenses through dipping baths (2, 3, 4) for e.g. rinsing, extraction, coating or loading purposes. The lenses are individually accommodated in respective containers (5) which are capable of enabling a flow of treatment fluid (S) into and out of the container (5). During their automatic transport through the dipping baths (2, 3, 4) the containers (5) are held in carriers (6). Lifters (9) are provided for automatically lowering and raising the carriers (6) in a reciprocating manner along their travel through the dipping bath (2, 3, 4). The reciprocating lowering and raising of the containers (5) is accomplished such, that a portion of each container which accommodates a contact lens remains immersed in the treatment fluid (S) which is contained in the dipping bath (2, 3, 4) while the container (5) suspended from the carrier (6) is advanced through the dipping bath (2, 3, 4) from a starting end to a leaving end thereof.
