  • Publication number: 20150172292
Abstract: Methods for authenticating a security device at a local network location for providing a secure access from the local network location to a remote network location are provided. A security device is registered by installing private security software on the security device that generates an asymmetrical encryption key pair including an encryption key and a decryption key. The encryption key is stored only on the security device and the decryption key is stored only on a remote server. Embodiments of the present invention provide increased security by not storing the encryption key on the remote server so that attackers stealing data from the server cannot pretend to a user having the registered security device. A corresponding system for authenticating a security device is also provided.

  • Publication number: 20140184682
Abstract: In an ink jet printer (2), where there is relative movement between a print carriage (4) and a print table (6) to print on to a substrate mounted on the table (6), the gradient of the print table at each position of the print carriage (4) is used to produce a compensated position of the print carriage (4), and printing data is sent to the print head according to the compensated position instead of the actual position. This delays or advances the release of ink, to compensate for the difference in the time taken for the ink to reach a substrate mounted on the print table (6) when the print gap between print heads and print table (6) is not constant.

  • Patent number: 8674278
Abstract: A gun-fired projectile or ballistic missile (1) is equipped with a pair of canards (3) and an array of tail fins (2). Selected tail fins can be retracted or jettisoned following the ballistic phase to vary the geometry of the array from a rotationally symmetrical configuration to an asymmetric configuration for the glide phase, which together with the canards tends to stabilize the projectile in roll. The canards (3) can be independently extended and retracted with respect to the body of the projectile to generate differential lift for banking the projectile to turn. The canards (3) also preferably have a positive dihedral angle with respect to the intended gliding attitude. In an alternative embodiment the canards are replaced by functionally equivalent thrusters.

  • Patent number: 8578148
Abstract: A method and system to transmit code to a System on Chip (SOC) from a host processor using a host-side driver is provided herein. The SOC and host processor are coupled by a bus. The host driver receives an overlay from an application layer and stores the overlay. The host driver receives an IOCTL to be transmitted to the SOC. The host driver determines whether an input/output control (IOCTL) value of the IOCTL to be transmitted to the SOC corresponds to an IOCTL value in one of the stored overlays. The host driver transmits an overlay to the SOC if the IOCTL value of the IOCTL to be transmitted is equal to at least one IOCTL value in the overlay. The host driver then transmits the IOCTL to the SOC.
