  • Publication number: 20090180999
Abstract: A method is disclosed that prevents, controls and ameliorates urinary tract infections caused by E-coli by administering a therapeutically effective amount of a human dietary supplement composition comprising a cranberry derivative or proanthocyandin containing concentrate and D-mannose combined in a form suitable for oral consumption. The cranberry derivative or proanthocyandin containing concentrate comprises from about one percent (1.0%) by weight to about 95 percent (95.0%) by weight on a dry weight basis. The composition is formulated for delivering, a D-mannose unit dosage between about 0.5 to about 5.0 grams per dose and further comprising a diuretic and wherein the composition formed from the cranberry derivative or proanthocyandin containing concentrate, D-mannose and diuretic are effective together for binding to E-coli to aid in flushing the E-coli from the urinary tract system while preventing binding of E-coli to cells in the urinary tract system.

  • Publication number: 20070095528
Abstract: Although the methods have been described here for, and are most typically used for, hydrocarbon production, fluid diversion measurement systems and methods are described. One method includes inserting a tubular tubing having one more fluid injection ports into a wellbore, injecting a treatment fluid through the injection port, and determining differential flow of the treatment fluid at one or more wellbore based on measuring the concentration of at least one particular component of a wellbore fluid located in the annulus formed between the wellbore and tubular; and means for using the measured parameters in realtime to monitor, control, or both monitor and control diversion of the fluid. This abstract allows a searcher or other reader to quickly ascertain the subject matter of the disclosure. It will not be used to interpret or limit the scope or meaning of the claims. 37 CFR 1.72(b).

  • Publication number: 20070033383
Abstract: A method and a data processing apparatus operable to process instructions from a plurality of instruction sets, the plurality of instruction sets each sharing a sub-set of common instructions and each having a remaining set of instructions is disclosed. The data processing apparatus comprises: a plurality of decode units, each decode unit being operable to only decode the remaining set of instructions from a corresponding one of the plurality of instruction sets; and a common decode unit operable to decode a number of the sub-set of common instructions from each of the plurality of instruction sets. This enables the common instructions from each instruction set to be decoded by the common decode unit. Hence, the logic which would otherwise be duplicated in each of the individual decode units for each instruction set can be removed from those decode units and provided just once in the common decode unit.

  • Publication number: 20060271768
Abstract: A data processing system including multiple execution pipelines each having multiple execution stages E1, E2, E3 may have instructions issued together in parallel despite a data dependency therebetween if it is detected that the result operand value for the older instruction will be generated in an execution stage prior to an execution stage which requires that result operand value as an input operand value to the younger instruction and accordingly cross-forwarding of the operand value is possible between the execution pipelines to resolve the data dependency.

  • Publication number: 20060218448
Abstract: A data processing apparatus is provided having a plurality of functional units. At least one of the functional units is operable to perform data processing operations and at least a subset of the plurality of functional units have at least one of a respective co-processor register for storing configuration data and a respective debug register for storing debug data. A debug controller outputs debug data and co-ordinates debug operations. A configuration ring-bus provides a ring path for communication of configuration instructions between a first ring sequence of the plurality of functional units and a debug ring-bus provides a ring path for communication of the debug data between a second ring sequence of the plurality of functional units. Separate provision of the debug ring-bus and the configuration ring-bus provides independent access to the co-processor register and to the debug register.

  • Publication number: 20060218124
Abstract: Techniques for improving the performance of a data processing apparatus are disclosed. The data processing apparatus is operable to execute a data access instruction which causes a first plurality of data items to be transferred between registers and memory. The data processing apparatus is also operable to transfer a second plurality of data items between the registers and the memory in each processing cycle. The data processing apparatus comprises: decode logic operable in response to receipt of one of the data access instruction to determine a number of reserved processing cycles to be reserved for the execution of the data access instruction, the number of reserved processing cycles being determined to be a number of processing cycles which would enable greater than the first plurality of data items to be transferred in those reserved processing cycles. Hence, a greater number of processing cycles are reserved than are strictly necessary.
