  • Publication number: 20130017078
Abstract: An impeller arrangement for location for use with a blower and/or vac device, the impeller being rotatable about an axis of rotation and comprising a base, a shroud and a plurality of blades located therebetween, the shroud comprising an impeller inlet defining a passageway to the plurality of blades, a barrier arrangement located adjacent the impeller inlet to restrict airflow between the impeller and its housing. By providing such an arrangement, inlet losses to the impeller can be reduced when compared to known arrangements. The interaction between these components forms a barrier to bleeding of the airflow away from the inlet, reducing the likelihood of air passing between the impeller and its housing and improving the inlet efficiency of the impeller.

  • Publication number: 20130017079
Abstract: A debris blowing and/or vacuum appliance. The appliance comprises a body including a fluid inlet, a fluid outlet for exhausting fluid externally of the body, a volute located in a flowpath between the fluid inlet and the fluid outlet and a centrifugal impeller located within the volute and rotatable by a motor to generate a flow of fluid, and a diffuser located immediately downstream of the centrifugal impeller between the centrifugal impeller and a volute outlet region. The diffuser comprises an annular channel surrounding the centrifugal impeller and has substantially constant radial width such that the impeller is radially spaced from the volute walls by at least the width of the diffuser. By providing such an arrangement, the efficiency of the impeller can be improved.

  • Publication number: 20130011469
Abstract: A medicine delivery system includes an inner capsule containing carotenoids and an outer capsule in which the inner capsule is contained within the outer capsule and the outer capsule containing a therapeutically effective amount of krill oil. In one example, the carotenoids comprise at least S, S?-astaxanthin derived from Haematococcus pluvialis, and one or more of lutein and/or trans-zeaxanthin or meso-zeaxanthin. The medicine delivery system also includes 0.5 to 8 mg of astaxanthin, 2 to 15 mg of lutein and 0.2 to 12 mg of trans-zeaxanthin contained within the inner capsule. In a specific example, the medicine delivery system includes about 4 mg of astaxanthin, about 10 mg of lutein and about 1.2 mg of trans-zeaxanthin contained within the inner capsule.

  • Patent number: 8115780
Abstract: A system and method for generating an image on a display. The display includes a plurality of pixels from a vector description of a scene. The data is sampled from the vector description to provide data samples at locations defined in relation to the pixels. For example, the locations may include a first and second locations at the edges of the pixels, a third location at the corner of the pixels and a fourth location at the center of the pixels. The data samples are stored in a buffer and processed for each of the pixels to give an averaged data value. The image is then generated the image on the display by applying the averaged data value to each of the pixels. The calculation of the weighted averaged color value is repeated for each of the fragments in the buffer until all of the samples have been averaged.
