  • Patent number: 11849371
Abstract: During a positioning session, a user equipment (UE) is provided with an early uplink grant to respond to a request for location service information from a location server. The location service information, for example, may be a request for positioning capabilities, a request for positioning measurements or a position estimate, and may be a request for a single, periodic or triggered location information. The early uplink grant may be requested by the UE prior to needing the uplink grant, e.g., before the positioning measurements have been completed. The location server may instigate the early uplink grant, e.g., at or near the same time that the location server sends the request for information to the UE. The early uplink grant may be used, e.g., during high priority or emergency related positioning sessions, in order to reduce delay in the UE providing a response to the request for location information.

  • Publication number: 20230388783
Abstract: Uplink high efficiency location of a user equipment (UE) includes initiating periodic or triggered location in the UE by a location server (LS) in a wireless network. The UE enters an idle state and monitors for triggering events. After detecting an event, the UE transmits an uplink positioning signal (UPS) to a base station, where the UPS encodes UPS data comprising a UE ID, an ID for the LS, an authentication code (AC) and location measurements. UPS transmission occurs in an uplink positioning occasion shared with other UEs. The location measurements may be ciphered but other UPS data is unciphered. The base station obtains additional location measurements and transfers the UPS data and the location measurements to the LS. The LS authenticates the UE ID using the AC, determines the UE location using the location measurements and transfers the location to an external client.

  • Patent number: 11827846
Abstract: Proppant embedment can sometimes be problematic during fracturing operations. A partially oxidized, amine-functionalized polysaccharide comprising a plurality of oxidatively opened monosaccharide units and bearing an amine moiety at one or more sites of oxidative opening may lessen the amount of proppant embedment that occurs. Fracturing methods may comprise providing a fracturing fluid comprising such a partially oxidized, amine-functionalized polysaccharide and a plurality of proppant particulates, introducing the fracturing fluid into a subterranean formation at a hydraulic pressure sufficient to create or extend one or more fractures therein, such that at least a portion of the plurality of proppant particulates become localized in the one or more fractures, and releasing the hydraulic pressure. Upon releasing the hydraulic pressure, embedment of the proppant particulates in a face of the one or more fractures is about 10% to about 40% of a grain size of the proppant particulates.
