  • Publication number: 20170048227
Abstract: Pre-delivery authentication may be required prior to routing and delivery of electronic content. A sender of the electronic content, for example, may require that a recipient authenticate to ensure legitimate use or identity. Should pre-delivery authentication be required, the electronic content is held at any networked device while the recipient authenticates. If the recipient correctly authenticates, then the electronic content is released for delivery.

  • Patent number: 9549077
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for processing a call to an aggregate endpoint device over a network are disclosed. For example, the method receives a session request by a Serving-Call Session Control Function (S-CSCF), wherein a route header for the session request comprises an aggregate endpoint identifier, and interacts with an application server to receive a Public User Identity (PUID) of the aggregate endpoint device in accordance with the aggregate endpoint identifier. The method performs a termination processing for the session request using the PUID of the aggregate endpoint device, and forwards the session request towards the aggregate endpoint device.

  • Patent number: 9544393
Abstract: A persona determination approach can be utilized to apply digital personas across multiple communications domains. A service gateway can determine whether to transfer a request for communications services to a Persona Determination Mechanism (PDM). The PDM can select a digital persona based on available information and transmit the digital persona to the service gateway. The service gateway can process the communications services based on the selected digital persona or based on the determination not to transfer the request. In some methods, the service gateway can forward the processed request to one or more network elements for further processing. Related systems are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20170006134
Abstract: A network for delivering application level multimedia services includes simple, application-level switches and rules managers. Each application-level switch includes rules defining message edits and selections of message destinations. The rules managers operate to manage the rules. Network functions process messages on the application level, and include operation of one or more rules managers and operation of an application-level switch. The network function is performed by the switch application by performing application level message processing according to rules managed by the at least one of the plurality of rules managers. The application level switches together resolve a requested identity to one or more routable addresses, enabling the network to route a message.

  • Publication number: 20160373491
Abstract: A method includes sending, from a first device while the first device is coupled to a second device, a signal to a third device to request a server to host a server-directed service. The signal is sent as part of a communication session. The server is independent of a path of the communication session. The method also includes receiving an instruction from the third device to enable access to the server-directed service.

  • Publication number: 20160269237
Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a process that includes receiving first input defining a relationship between first and second entities, generating a first rule based on the first input, wherein the first rule determines accessibility of a networked service, and associating the first rule with the relationship. The first rule modifies settings of a service management infrastructure to effectuate the first rule in accordance with the relationship, wherein the service management infrastructure provides access to the networked service based on the accessibility. Other embodiments are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9444855
Abstract: A particular method includes receiving a signal to invoke a central server-directed service from a first communication device at a session initiation protocol application device. The first communication device is coupled to at least one second communication device via a pathway of a half call model communication session. The method includes sending first instructions to the first communication device via the session initiation protocol device in response to the signal. The first instructions enable the first device to access the central server-directed service. The method also includes sending second instructions to the at least one second device via the session initiation protocol device in response to the signal. The second instructions enable the at least one second communication device to access the central server-directed service.

  • Publication number: 20160261649
Abstract: A method includes receiving, at first communication service provider equipment, a request to initiate a session between the first device and the second device. The second device associated with a particular user of a multimedia service provided by second communication service provider equipment. The first device has access to a particular application to access the multimedia service from the second communication service provider equipment. The method further includes sending a message including a call invitation to the second device to initiate the session. The call invitation includes location data related to a connection between the second device and the second communication service provider equipment for transfer of the particular application from the second communication service provider to the second device.

  • Patent number: 9380080
Abstract: A method includes receiving, at a first communication service provider, a request (by a first device and including identification information associated with a particular user of a second device) to initiate a session between the first device and the second device for a multimedia service provided by a second communication service provider. The method includes determining access information associated with the second device based on the identification information and sending a call invitation to the second device to initiate the session. Accepting the call invitation causes the second device to receive the particular application (which is executable to facilitate initiation of the session) from the second communication service provider via a connection between the second device and the second communication service provider.

  • Publication number: 20160119262
Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a process that determines an identity of a subscriber of a media service. A viewing criterion of the subscriber is determined and a media content item is identified based on the viewing criterion of the subscriber. The media content item is provided for delivery to a media processing device without first requiring a request for delivery of the media content item. The media processing device is identified by a network service provider based on a selection of the media processing device from among a number of devices of the subscriber that are registered with the network service provider. The selection of the media processing device is based on device capabilities and the identity of the subscriber. Other embodiments are disclosed.
