  • Publication number: 20240174555
Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods of reusing at least a portion of the scrap glass generated in a cellular glass manufacturing process by introducing the scrap glass back into a cellular glass manufacturing process. The methods comprise changing the overall glass composition allowing for higher oxidizer content, which, in turn, allows for inclusion of more scrap material in the glass melt and the cellular glass production process. In particular, the glass composition in the melt is treated to increase the amount of an oxidizer (e.g., MnO2) to amounts above those that are used in conventional manufacturing processes, while also maintaining important physical properties in the ultimate cellular glass product.

  • Publication number: 20240175742
Abstract: A method of accurately and precisely measuring the volatile solvent content of tooth whitening compounds incorporates taking a representative sample of the compound at a given stage of manufacture and measuring its weight before and after a heating process to eliminate substantially all the volatile solvents contained within the sample. By comparing initial and finished weights, the percentage of volatile solvents may be obtained. The process may then be repeated throughout the manufacturing process until any desired solvent concentration is reached.

  • Publication number: 20240174320
Abstract: The disclosed method may include configuring one or more brakes based on a braking-related attribute expected at a geographic location being traversed by a personal mobility vehicle. By configuring the application of brakes of a personal mobility vehicle based on terrain, environmental conditions, and other geographic features, the system may reduce the risk of the vehicle skidding or tipping due to over-braking. In some embodiments, a rider may use a single brake lever to indicate a desire to brake and the system may make determinations about how to apply a combination of mechanical and electrical brakes to front and back wheels based at least in part on the location of the personal mobility vehicle. By configuring brake engagement based on a combination of controls and map data, the system may improve user experience and user safety, especially for inexperienced riders.
