Abstract: Various types and levels of operator assistance are performed within a unified, configurable framework. A model of the device with a model of the environment and the current state of the device and the environment are used to iteratively generate a sequence of optimal device control inputs that, when applied to a model of the device, generate an optimal device trajectory through a constraint-bounded corridor or region within the state space. This optimal trajectory and the sequence of device control inputs that generates it is used to generate a threat assessment metric. An appropriate type and level of operator assistance is generated based on this threat assessment. Operator assistance modes include warnings, decision support, operator feedback, vehicle stability control, and autonomous or semi-autonomous hazard avoidance. The responses generated by each assistance mode are mutually consistent because they are generated using the same optimal trajectory.

Abstract: A curing apparatus for thermally processing thin films on low-temperature substrates at high speeds is disclosed. The curing apparatus includes a strobe head, a strobe control module and a conveyor control module. The strobe control module controls the power, duration and repetition rate of a set of pulses generated by a flash lamp on the strobe head. The conveyor control module along with the strobe control module provide real-time synchronization between the repetition rate of the set of pulses and the speed at which the substrate is being moved under the strobe head, according to the speed information.

Abstract: Suction-assisted tissue-engaging devices, systems, and methods are disclosed that can be employed through minimal surgical incisions to engage tissue during a medical procedure through application of suction to the tissue through a suction member applied to the tissue. A shaft is introduced into a body cavity through a first incision, and a suction head is attached to the shaft via a second incision. The suction head is applied against the tissue by manipulation of the shaft and suction is applied to engage the tissue while the medical procedure is performed through the second incision. A system coupled to the shaft and a fixed reference point stabilizes the shaft and suction head. When the medical procedure is completed, suction is discontinued, the suction head is detached from the shaft and withdrawn from the body cavity through the second incision, and the shaft is retracted through the first incision.

Abstract: The present invention relates to crystalline solvate forms of N-[2,4-bis(1,1-dimethylethyl)-5-hydroxyphenyl]-1,4-dihydro-4-oxoquinoline-3-carboxamide (Compound 1) and methods for their preparation. The present invention further relates to pharmaceutical compositions comprising the crystalline solvate forms, as well as methods of treatment therewith.

Abstract: A white light LED-based lighting device may comprise a light assembly including a plurality of white-light LEDs disposed on a substrate. The LEDs may cover the substrate top surface in a density of greater than 50 individual LEDs per square inch. An electrical driver board is electrically connected to the LEDs. A heat sink is thermally connected to the substrate and the LEDs. A reflector assembly may be disposed on the heat sink such that its focal plane is disposed generally adjacent to the LEDs. The device may have a continuous operating temperature of 65 degrees Celsius or lower in a room temperature environment. The LEDs may comprise a top surface area of less than 2 mm2 and be arranged in a series of concentric rings on the substrate with each LED oriented along the circumference thereof. The reflector assembly may be filled at least partially with an impact-resistant polymer material.

Abstract: Systems, methods and articles of manufacture for generating a video such that when another person views the video, the other person can view non-private information but not private information of the person who generated the video. A first interview screen is generated by a financial application and displayed to a first person or user of a financial application. The screen includes private data related to the first person. A video of the interview screen is generated and may be transmitted over a network to a second person who may also utilize a financial application. The video is displayed to the second person, but the second person cannot view the private data related to the first person.

The telecommunications module is configured such that the signal input location can be selected to be either on the front wall or the rear wall of the main housing. The cover defines a protrusion extending from the second sidewall toward the main housing portion, the protrusion being selectively breakable to expose a recess on the front wall of the main housing portion that defines a signal input location.

Abstract: A laparoscopic scissor instrument can include a scissor assembly pivotally coupled to an elongate shaft. The scissor assembly can be formed of scissor blades having pivot posts thereon. The pivot posts can engage apertures on the elongate shaft, thus eliminating the need for a through-pinned pivot connection of the scissor blades. The scissor blades can also include actuation posts thereon. An actuation mechanism can include a slot to engage the actuation posts and open or close the blades of the scissor assembly. The scissor assemblies described herein can have a relatively low operational height such that they do not extend beyond a diameter of the elongate shaft during opening and closing of the scissor assembly.

A servo data rate of servo sectors in a first servo zone is different than a servo data rate of servo sectors in a second servo zone. A boundary of a first servo zone overlaps with a boundary of a second servo zone over a transition zone. The servo sectors of the first servo zone are interleaved with the servo sectors of the second servo zone within the transition zone. At least one servo parameter is adjusted when the head is over the transition zone in order to transition between the first servo zone and the second servo zone.

The configuration includes mapping one or more applications with a guest access code. The configuration receives, through a display screen of a mobile computing device, an access code, and determines whether the received access code corresponds with the guest access code. The configuration identifies the mapped applications corresponding to the guest access code and provides for display, on a screen of the mobile computing device, the identified applications.

Abstract: An electrochemical test sensor for detecting the analyte concentration of a fluid test sample includes a base, a dielectric layer, a reagent layer and a lid. The base provides a flow path for the test sample having on its surface a counter electrode and a working electrode adapted to electrically communicate with a detector of electrical current. The dielectric layer forms a dielectric window therethrough. The reagent layer includes an enzyme that is adapted to react with the analyte. The lid is adapted to mate with the base and to assist in forming a capillary space with an opening for the introduction of the test sample thereto. At least a portion of the width of the counter electrode is greater than the width of the working electrode.

Abstract: The system and method of visual role engineering uses a visual assessment tool to identify clusters of users and to define roles. A “cluster image” is generated that visually depicts the cluster tendencies of users and permissions. An operator of the visual assessment tool can visually identify clusters of users with the same permissions. The operator may select a cluster representing a subset of users, define a role for the subset of users, and assign permissions to the role. The process may be repeated in an iterative fashion until it is determined that no more roles are needed.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable storage media for managing a viral invitational content campaign. Invitational content is delivered with a user interface element that, upon selection, transmits a forwarding request to the content delivery server. The content delivery server generates a link with a unique identifier and creates a forwarding entry that includes the unique identifier and identifies the item of invitational content. The link is returned in response to the forwarding request. Upon selection of the link, a request including the unique identifier is transmitted to the content delivery server which accesses the corresponding forwarding entry to return the corresponding item of invitational content. A viral campaign dictates a target spend range and throttling methods are utilized to manage the spend. Invitational content forwarding, delivery cost, and content selection are variable to manage the spend. Calculated metrics are also used to manage spend.
