Publication number: 20230266006Abstract: A swirler assembly includes a swirler having primary swirler with a primary swirler venturi, a swirler ferrule plate connected to the primary swirler, and a fuel nozzle disposed in the swirler ferrule plate. The swirler ferrule plate has an aft wall, an annular conical wall, and an annular cavity wall that together form an annular cavity. The annular cavity includes a plurality of inlet orifices, and at least one outlet orifice. A flow of oxidizer through the plurality of inlet orifices into the annular cavity incurs a first pressure drop from a first pressure of a pressure plenum to a second pressure lower than the first pressure, and a flow of the oxidizer from the annular cavity through the at least one outlet orifice into the primary swirler venturi incurs a second pressure drop from the second pressure to a third pressure lower than the second pressure.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 18, 2022Publication date: August 24, 2023Inventors: Pradeep Naik, Shai Birmaher, Kwanwoo Kim, Saket Singh, Perumallu Vukanti, Karthikeyan Sampath, Steven C. Patent number: 11732186Abstract: A process for synthesizing Cu2-xS/PbS core/shell nanocrystals. Pb-oleate is mixed with 1-octadecene and heated to 60° C. Cu2-xS core solution and bis(trimethylsilyl)sulfide stock solution are added and the mixture is stirred at 60° C. for 6 minutes to form the PbS shell around the Cu2-xS nanocrystal cores. The flask is cooled and acetonitrile and toluene is added and the mixture is centrifuged to precipitate and remove the Cu2-xS/PbS core/shell nanocrystals from the reaction mixture. The reaction also produces homogeneously nucleated PbS nanocrystals, which are removed from the Cu2-xS/PbS core/shell reaction mixture via size-selective precipitation. By tailoring the amounts of Pb-oleate and bis(trimethylsilyl)sulfide stock solution in the reaction vessel, while maintaining their molar ratio of 1.5:1 and the number of Cu2-xS cores in the reaction, Cu2-xS/PbS core/shell nanocrystals having a predetermined shell thickness of PbS, and thus a predetermined level of chemical stability, can be obtained.Type: GrantFiled: April 23, 2021Date of Patent: August 22, 2023Assignee: The Government of the United States of America, as represented by the Secretary of the NavyInventors: Janice E. Patent number: 11733342Abstract: A method for estimating position of a mobile device which includes receiving, from a network server, observed time difference of arrival (OTDOA) assistance data for a first plurality of cells from a base station almanac (BSA) accessible to the network server. The OTDOA assistance data is stored, within a memory of the mobile device, as a first micro-BSA. A position estimate for the mobile device is determined based upon time difference of arrival (TDOA) measurements associated with an initial subset of the first plurality of cells and initial OTDOA assistance data corresponding to the initial subset of the first plurality of cells. The initial OTDOA assistance data may be generated by the micro-BSA based upon an initial seed estimate.Type: GrantFiled: July 20, 2021Date of Patent: August 22, 2023Assignee: PHY Wireless, LLCInventors: Steven C. Publication number: 20230241315Abstract: Medical devices and related systems and methods are provided. A method of controlling medication delivery based on sensor input involves obtaining a measurement parameter representing an electrical response of a first instance of a sensing element to a physiological condition of a person. The measurement parameter is converted into a calibrated measurement parameter using calibration data specific to the first instance of the sensing element. The method further involves determining a measurement value using the calibrated measurement parameter as input to a performance model. The performance model is derived from historical calibrated measurement parameters and corresponding reference values. The historical calibrated measurement parameters are from other instances of the sensing element. A command is then determined based on the measurement value and sent to a medical device. The command causes the medical device to deliver a dose of medication influencing the physiological condition of the person.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 7, 2023Publication date: August 3, 2023Inventors: Akhil Srinivasan, Peter Ajemba, Steven C.
