  • Publication number: 20200064779
Abstract: An electronic device, such as a watch, has an input mechanism, such as a crown, that may receive translational inputs, rotational inputs, and/or touch inputs. Inputs received at the crown may result in changes in operation of the electronic device and/or outputs, such as graphical outputs, provided by the electronic device. In various embodiments, the crown includes a retainer that couples an outer crown body to an inner crown body and secures an isolator between the outer crown body and the inner crown body. The embodiments of the crown described herein provide a simple and robust input mechanism for receiving rotational, translational, and touch inputs as described above, while simplifying part alignment, ensuring consistent rotation, and allowing for efficient manufacturing.

  • Publication number: 20200066658
Abstract: A semiconductor package and a packaged electronic device are described. The semiconductor package has a foundation layer and a planar filtering circuit. The circuit is formed in the foundation layer to provide EMI/RFI mitigation. The circuit has one or more conductive traces that are patterned to form an equivalent circuit of inductors and capacitors. The one or more conductive traces include planar metal shapes, such as meanders, loops, inter-digital fingers, and patterned shapes, to reduce the z-height of the package. The packaged electronic device has a semiconductor die, a foundation layer, a motherboard, a package, and the circuit. The circuit removes undesirable interferences generated from the semiconductor die. The circuit has a z-height that is less than a z-height of solder balls used to attach the foundation layer to the motherboard. A method of forming a planar filtering circuit in a foundation layer is also described.

  • Publication number: 20200054892
Abstract: A hand-held laser treatment device automatically sweeps a line of laser energy across a treatment area of a patient without moving the device. Laser energy sources reside in a scan head housing, which is rotatably connected to a body housing at a housing mount. A motorized scanning mechanism in the body housing drives a pushrod connected that is to the scan head to cause the scan head to reciprocate about the housing mount axis, moving an emitted line of laser energy up and down. The scanning mechanism comprises a rotational motor, a pushrod drive cam, a guide cam and an amplitude adjustor, all coaxially aligned along a motor axis. Interposed between the pushrod drive cam and the guide cam are the pushrod and a guide bearing aligned along an axis parallel to the motor axis. The degree of sweep is adjustable to change the size of the area treated.

  • Publication number: 20200056856
Abstract: Shooting sticks having pivotally attached support rests slidably attached to collapsible legs, said support rests providing a stable platform on which a user may aim and/or shoot a firearm or other object requiring at least temporary immobilization. A first channel running along the length of each support rests allows for the passage of a leg. A brake is attached to each support rest, said brake having an aperture through which a leg passes through, the aperture being configured, when the brake has not been depressed, to arrest any sliding movement of the support rest along the length of the leg to which it is attached. When the brake is depressed, the aperture becomes oriented perpendicular to leg which passes through it, allowing the support rests to freely slide up and down the leg. An elastic member provides an upwardly directed force to aid in support rest stabilization and lift assist.

Abstract: A fluid dispenser calibration system includes a fluid dispenser having a plurality of nozzles, a balance having a balance surface, and a mask positioned between the fluid dispenser and the balance surface. A nozzle pitch is a distance between two adjacent nozzles. The balance measures mass of fluid dispensed from a single nozzle and measures a change in mass on the balance surface. The balance surface has a linear dimension that is greater than the nozzle pitch. The mask includes an aperture and a catch region. The aperture allows fluid dispensed from the single nozzle to impact the balance surface. The catch region catches fluid dispensed from remaining nozzles in the plurality of nozzles.

  • Publication number: 20200053517
Abstract: A system that implements wireless communication with replay protection for lower power building control applications. In one example, a battery-powered device includes a counter value with each message transmitted to an always-on device. If the always-on device receive an invalid counter value, instead of sending back an acknowledgement, it sends back a message containing an updated counter value. The battery-powered device may keep its receiver on after sending a message for at least a period of time, the battery-powered device receives the message and updates its counter with the received updated counter value. Since it did not receive an acknowledgement, it retries its original message, this time with the updated counter value. The retry message is likely to be successfully transmitted.

  • Patent number: 10556248
Abstract: A sprinkler includes a compartment that surrounds its riser portion in an offset or asymmetrical configuration. More specifically, the distance of the compartments walls from those of the riser vary (i.e., increase or decrease) at different locations surrounding the riser. Put another way, the riser is closer to one side of the compartment than other sides of the compartment. This non-concentric configuration allows larger components to fit inside the compartment than would otherwise fit if the riser was symmetrically surrounded by the compartment.

  • Publication number: 20200041473
Abstract: Embodiments of methods for producing and testing aqueous gas streams within a self-pressurized flow cell are disclosed. The aqueous gas streams comprise mixtures of aqueous salt precursor and aqueous acid precursor that are mixed in-line and introduced to the self-pressurized flow cell to produce aqueous gases. Once in the self-pressurized flow cell, the precursor mixture formed from the mixed aqueous salt precursor and the aqueous acid precursor may react with the sample. Both the sample and the reacted aqueous solution may be subjected to a variety of real-time tests, such electrochemical tests and in line characterization techniques. These embodiments allow for the concentrations of the aqueous salt precursor and the aqueous acid precursor to be accurately and precisely maintained while allowing for increased safety when handling and testing the various toxic aqueous gas streams produced.
