  • Publication number: 20150247063
Abstract: Methods for removing, reducing or treating the trace metal contaminants and the smaller fine sized cerium oxide particles from cerium oxide particles, cerium oxide slurry or chemical mechanical polishing (CMP) compositions for Shallow Trench Isolation (STI) process are applied. The treated chemical mechanical polishing (CMP) compositions, or the CMP polishing compositions prepared by using the treated cerium oxide particles or the treated cerium oxide slurry are used to polish substrate that contains at least a surface comprising silicon dioxide film for STI (Shallow trench isolation) processing and applications. The reduced nano-sized particle related defects have been observed due to the reduced trace metal ion contaminants and reduced very smaller fine cerium oxide particles in the Shallow Trench Isolation (STI) CMP polishing.

  • Publication number: 20150237413
Abstract: A method that incorporates teachings of the subject disclosure may include, for example transmitting, by a system comprising a processor, via a first emergency media channel a first video stream comprising first evacuation routing information for a first evacuation group responsive to receiving a notification of an emergency event, instructing, by the system, a first media processor device to select the first emergency media channel while disabling selection of other media channels according to the first evacuation routing information, where the content of the emergency media channel is presented at a display device by way of the first media processor device, and enabling, by the system, the first media processor device to select the other media channels responsive to receiving user input acknowledging the emergency media channel. Other embodiments are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9106811
Abstract: Certain aspects relate to a method and system whereby any defined system characteristic, property, or parameter can be normalized for farther improving the displayed image quality. The normalization processing can use a generalized calibration process and can normalize a system characteristic, or a system property, and/or parameter to result in a more uniform or accurately displayed image using a generalized image processing method.

  • Patent number: 9096094
Abstract: A stretched artist canvas frame system is supported with a rigid foam back to either allow artists to apply pressure to a canvas without stretching it and causing sagging, or to allow artists to use the stretched artist canvas as an alternative for artists who paint on board. The frame system is a light weight alternative to painting on board, especially when the paintings become very large. The frame system provides the texture of canvas but the stiffness of a board by supporting the board with a lightweight rigid extruded foam. The frame system gives the artist the choice of painting on canvas or the feel of painting on board. The rigid foam back allows the artist to even create a smooth board finish if they choose through priming techniques. As the canvas gets larger, they do not get prohibitively heavier.

  • Publication number: 20150209542
Abstract: A nasal cannula arrangement for use as part of systems for delivery respiratory gases to a patient is disclosed. The nasal cannula arrangement includes a manifold part adapted to receive gases from a delivery conduit. The manifold includes one but preferably a pair of prongs extending upward and curving towards the rear of the manifold. The prongs are inserted into the nostrils of the patient and deliver gases to a patient. The prongs have a cut out on the rear side of the prongs. The cut out forms a gases outlet in the prongs and are shaped such that the area of the cut out area is greater than the cross sectional area of the prongs at the entry point to the prongs.

  • Patent number: 9091860
Abstract: Systems and methods configured for outputting light having a polarization state distribution that is spatially uniform by applying a correction to, for example, a beam of light with a spatially uniform polarization state distribution that has been altered (unintentionally or otherwise) to become spatially non-uniform are described. A projection system can include an optical element and a polarization-altering device (PAD). The optical element can cause a polarization of light in the projection system to be spatially non-uniform. The PAD can change the polarization state distribution of the light spatially based on an amount of spatial non-uniformity on the light caused by the optical element and before the light enters the optical element. The projection system can output the light having a spatially uniform polarization state distribution.

  • Patent number: 9087508
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for causing aural and/or visual presentation of representative content in response to a request to progress or navigate through audio content at a scan rate exceeding a threshold playback rate. In some embodiments, a current position marker in the audio content may be repeatedly updated based on the scan rate. For each updated position of the current position marker, one or more characteristic words associated with the content near the current position marker may be determined. A continuous presentation of the determined characteristic words may be generated and presented aurally and/or visually in order to provide an indication as to the subject matter of the content at the current position.

  • Patent number: 9088864
Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems and methods for utilizing close proximity wireless communication (CPWC) technology for a secure out-of-band (OOB) transfer of communication information between two or more devices at close range. The communication information may then be used to establish a secure communication channel over a greater distance than possible using CPWC technologies. In various embodiments, a host device may include a processing unit in communication with a communication module and a separate CPWC module. An edge device may include a processing unit in communication with a communication module and a CPWC tag. The CPWC tag may be configured to receive communication information from the CPWC module of the host device. The edge device may then use the communication information to facilitate secure communication via the communication module of the edge device and the communication module of the host device.

  • Publication number: 20150197295
Abstract: An undercarriage track joint assembly includes a first link having a first bore at a first end and a second bore at a second, opposite end, and a second link having a first bore at a first end and a second bore at a second, opposite end. A pin may extend between the first and second links, positioned at least partially within the first bores of the first and second links, or partially within the second bores of the first and second links. A bushing may extend between the first and second links, a central axial bore being defined through the bushing. The pin may extend through the central axial bore through the bushing, the pin being coated with a diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating over at least a portion of an outer diameter surface of the pin, the coating providing a contact layer between the outer diameter surface of the pin and an inner diameter surface of the central axial bore through the bushing.
