  • Patent number: 12116614
Abstract: Disclosed are approaches to determining a sensitivity of a bacterium to a given antibiotic and generating targeted treatments based on the sensitivity. One or more antibiotics may be selected for a chronic/recurrent infection resulting from a biofilm so as to reduce dose and or length of course of antibiotic treatment. For example, if a bacterial pathogen is determined to be sensitive to an antibiotic in its planktonic form but resistant to that antibiotic in its biofilm form, then the biofilm may be dispersed or disrupted from the biofilm residence in order to clear the infection. In various embodiments, a dispersal or disruption method and/or agent may be determined based at least in part on a rate of bacterial release from a biofilm that sensitizes the pathogen to a chosen antibiotic.

Abstract: Apparatuses for physically securing a laptop in an open position to a display surface are disclosed. Such an apparatus comprises a main body from which fastener(s) extend downward, and left and right arms that are extendable and retractable relative to the main body. The left and right arms comprise, respectively, left and right braces. A tab extends through an opening in a bottom of the main body and is configured to transition the apparatus from a unidirectional configuration to a bidirectional configuration in response to being pressed. When the apparatus is in the unidirectional configuration the left and right arms are retractable in tandem relative to the main body, and the left and right arms are prevented from being extended relative to the main body. When the apparatus is in the bidirectional configuration the left and right arms are both retractable and extendable relative to the main body.

  • Publication number: 20240325758
Abstract: A method of facilitating therapeutic neuromodulation of a heart of a patient includes positioning an electrode in a pulmonary artery, positioning a sensor in vasculature, delivering via a stimulation system first and second electrical signals of a series of electrical signals to the electrode. The second electrical signal differs from the first electrical signal by a magnitude of a first parameter of a plurality of parameters. The method includes determining, via the sensor, sensor data indicative of one or more heart activity properties in response to the delivery of the series of electrical signals, and delivering a therapeutic neuromodulation signal to the pulmonary artery using selected electrical parameters. The selected electrical parameters include a selected magnitude of the first parameter. The selected magnitude of the first parameter is based at least partially on the sensor data. The therapeutic neuromodulation signal increases heart contractility.

  • Patent number: 12103027
Abstract: Apparatus and associated methods relate to remote priming of a texture sprayer. The texture sprayer includes a main unit, a hose assembly and a spray gun, the main unit includes an air compressor, a sensor that senses a parameter of air compressed by the air compressor, and a texture material pump that is activated and deactivated in response to the parameter sensed. A spray gun can be remoted coupled to the main unit via the hose assembly. The spray gun includes a nozzle, from which the texture material is forcefully expelled as a spray, a trigger, and a prime valve. Actuation of the trigger causes the spray gun to mix the compressed air with the texture material and to forcefully expel the texture material as a spray from the nozzle, thereby causing flow of the compressed air. Opening the prime valve releases the compressed air thereby causing flow of the compressed air.

  • Patent number: 12098188
Abstract: This disclosure provides antibody fragments and isolated polypeptides comprising the antibody fragments that are useful as a therapeutic for those with an existing infection characterized by the formation of biofilms. Antibody fragments and isolated polypeptides comprising the antibody fragments can be administered to detect, treat, or prevent infection and/or remediate biofilms. Bacteria that cannot form functional biofilms are more readily cleared by the remainder of the host's immune system and/or traditional antibiotics.

  • Publication number: 20240311360
Abstract: A data system is provided for analyzing and maintaining data obtained from one or more data sources on which the data system depends. The system includes a primary database including current values used by the system and a collection of executable algorithms used to generate the data maintained in the primary database. In response to receiving a notification regarding a change in one of the data sources, a dependency database is used to establish an execution order for algorithms of the algorithm collection that are directly or indirectly dependent on the changed data. The algorithms identified in the execution order are then executed in accordance with the execution order and the corresponding result is stored in the primary database. The system may include data harvesters adapted to recognize changes in the data sources and to generate and transmit corresponding change notifications when such changes occur.
