  • Patent number: 10486091
Abstract: A continuous belt screen assembly and system used for filtering fluid for various municipal and industrial purposes. The assembly includes a pair of spaced, endless belts, lifters, and screen panels. Each lifter is operably mounted to the pair of belts for lifting of solid waste out of the fluid in the channel. Each of the screen panels can be interposed between lifters and secured in place by opposing slots defined by the lifters. The endless belts can include toothed drive links, with the ends of the teeth extending with the ends of the drive links to define an involute profile. The lifters can include a sleeve portion for receiving a pivot shaft and a paddle portion extending from the sleeve portion, terminating at a free end that can be contoured to have teeth. The lifters can be a flexible material configured to deflect.

  • Patent number: 10356330
Abstract: A small, rugged, concentric square, forward-pivot, assembly with motorized pan and tilt, two-point suspension of pan and tilt axes, multiple photo-sensors, and capable of using lenses that are much larger than pinhole lenses, is provided. It is combined with a motorized zoom lens, image sensor, processor and enclosure to form a covert outdoor video surveillance camera. It enables a viewing window for the lens to be small yet provide large angles of view without needing a light-losing, dark material or sharpness-losing perforated media to conceal it, and captures much more light than a pinhole. Three photo sensors are arranged around the lens and collectively control an IR-cut filter. The sensors are integrated into the assembly to point in the same direction as the lens, and provide a good assessment of the scene brightness even when some of them have been panned or tilted out of view of the window.

  • Patent number: 10068486
Abstract: A transportation network is provided that utilizes autonomous vehicles (e.g., unmanned aerial vehicles) for identifying, acquiring, and transporting items between network locations without requiring human interaction. A travel path for an item through the transportation network may include multiple path segments and corresponding intermediate network locations, with a different autonomous vehicle utilized to transport the item along each path segment. Different possible next network locations for a travel path may selected based on transportation factors such as travel time, cost, safety, etc. (e.g., as may be related to distance, network congestion, inclement weather, etc.). Local processing (e.g., by a control system of an autonomous vehicle) may perform the selection of a next network location for a travel path (e.g.

  • Patent number: 10026007
Abstract: A method provides for greatly reducing the time required for humans and machines to review long periods of recorded surveillance video, obtain images with high spatial and temporal detail, and greatly reduce the amount of data required for review. An Internet-accessible camera continuously captures video and records it internally in one or more series of short “normal” files. Each series of normal files has a particular resolution and frame rate. Periodically, a time-lapse video is also created within the camera, from images from a number of most-recent files in a given series of normal files. A user interface enables viewing a sequence of time-lapse videos, pausing playback, and clicking over to a normal video file it was made from, to view images with greater temporal detail, and back again. The method includes multiple resolutions of normal files and multiple series of time-lapse videos with different durations and sample rates.

  • Publication number: 20180159756
Abstract: A monitoring and messaging system for monitoring status of a plurality of assets. The system includes a data collection and normalization module configured to accept data originating from a plurality of sensors and to convert the data to normalized data for subsequent processing by the system. The system has an identification module configured to receive the normalized data and assign a subset of the normalized data generated by one or more specific sensors of the plurality of sensors to an asset selected from a plurality of assets. The system has an analysis module which includes a database of asset rules defining status states of the asset. The analysis module is programmed to receive and compare the subset of normalized data with a subset of asset rules to determine a status state of the asset. The system also has an action module which is configured to receive the status state of the asset, generate a message representing the status state of the asset and to transmit the message to a concerned party.

  • Patent number: 9959722
Abstract: A method is described for using a surveillance system to covertly and automatically determine the presence of persons and machines that do not want to be tracked and whose identities are unknown. Video is provided by one or more surveillance cameras and recorders to assist in visually distinguishing bearers of WiFi-equipped mobile devices. A processing device covertly receives WiFi probes from mobile devices, particularly smartphones, and forms and sends messages with links for viewing relevant live and recorded video. The processing device processes WiFi information, particularly mobile device signatures known as WiFi MAC addresses, organizes and records MAC addresses and other information, analyzes patterns of previous presence of MAC addresses using a variety of parameters, adjusts its processing parameters, determines when the reception of WiFi information from particular mobile devices satisfy criteria for sending messages, and presents its analysis for review and collaboration.

  • Patent number: 9916860
Abstract: A device for recording and/or reading data to and/or from a magnetic tape includes a read/write head which has a first device set including a first plurality of magnetic data write and/or read elements and a second device set including a second plurality of magnetic data write and/or read elements. The device also includes a lateral positioning actuator and an azimuth actuator. The lateral positioning actuator and azimuth actuator are used together to position both device sets on the magnetic tape. The lateral positioning actuator laterally positions the read/write head such that during write and/or read operations the first and second pluralities of magnetic data write and/or read elements align laterally to first and second pluralities of recordable and/or readable data tracks on the magnetic tape. The azimuth actuator rotates the read/write head about an azimuthal angle. such that the elements align to lateral spacings.
