  • Patent number: 10166006
Abstract: An ultrasound system performs duplex colorflow and spectral Doppler imaging, with the spectral Doppler interrogation performed at a sample volume location shown on the colorflow image. The colorflow image is displayed in a color box overlaid on a co-registered B mode image. A color box position and steering angle processor analyzes the spatial Doppler data and automatically sets the color box angle and location over a blood vessel for optimal Doppler sensitivity and accuracy. The processor may also automatically set the flow angle correction cursor in alignment with the direction of flow. In a preferred embodiment these optimization adjustments are made automatically and continuously as a user pauses at points for Doppler measurements along a length of the blood vessel.

  • Publication number: 20180338131
Abstract: A non-telecentric display system that prevents ghost images includes an optical waveguide and a display engine. An image former of the display engine includes a reflective surface having a surface normal thereto. An illumination engine of the display engine emits light towards the reflective surface of the image former such that chief rays are offset by acute angles from the surface normal to the reflective surface. The display engine directs light corresponding to an image, that reflects off the reflective surface of the image former, towards an input-coupler of the optical waveguide so light corresponding to the image is coupled therein and travels by total internal reflection to an output-coupler of the waveguide. Ghost images are prevented at least in part due to the chief rays of light emitted by the illumination engine being offset by acute angles from the surface normal to the reflective surface.

  • Patent number: 10122544
Abstract: Particular embodiments provide an N+0 sharing scheme for networks. The N+0 sharing scheme includes no dedicated spare among a group of active elements. Each active element may provide service to a medium, which may be associated with a medium. When a failure to one of the active elements occurs, at least one of the working active elements takes the workload of the failed active element. The cost of N+0 sharing is a reduced per medium (e.g., service group) capacity during a failure. That is, some service groups may receive less bandwidth from the active element that is used in the sharing scheme to compensate for the failure. However, this may be preferable to service operators compared to the additional cost of including a spare for the group of active elements, or the complete loss of service that occurs when a failure occurs without a failure recovery scheme.
