  • Publication number: 20050210407
Abstract: Methods, systems and articles of manufacture for enhanced control over the positioning of dialog boxes in relation to hyperlinks within electronic documents. The controlled positioning is implemented to mitigate any undesirable placement of dialog boxes that might limit to user access to hyperlinks contained within the electronic document. Accordingly, embodiments are provided for determining a location within a displayed electronic document at which a dialog box may be positioned without obscuring any hyperlinks. In the event that such positioning is not possible, steps are taken to position the dialog box in a location that will result in the least interference between the user and a displayed document.

  • Publication number: 20050201844
Abstract: The present invention relates to a blind rivet nut. Blind rivet nuts are used to connect items to surfaces of materials, such as roof racks to automobiles, and have proven to be extremely reliable. However, difficulties occur when attempting to connect to several layers of materials or when material thickness increase, as it has been necessary to increase hole size in order to ensure hole registration and this can cause sealing problems. The invention provides a blind rivet nut capable of being used through one or several layers with improved grip capability and improved sealing ability preventing ingress of moisture. Lines of weakness in the form of grooves are formed in a portion of the body of the blind rivet nut so that material deforms selectively thereby improving the grip of the blind rivet nut. A flange has an annular recess that enables an O-ring seal to deform more efficiently, giving a larger ‘footprint’ than was previously possible thereby enhancing sealing.

  • Publication number: 20050162032
Abstract: A method and apparatus for a generator coil includes a plurality of stacked windings in a rotor where individual turns are stacked in parallel sided radial slots in the rotor. Each successive turn has the same width substantially corresponding to a constant width of each slot, wherein a first turn has a first thickness and a second turn has a second thickness thicker than said first thickness. • Publication number: 20050158862
Abstract: A method for testing for the presence of sol-gel on an aluminum test specimen includes: preparing an ammonium molybdate solution; preparing a hydrochloric acid solution; and mixing the solutions in 2:1 ratio in each of a number of receptacles. A test specimen of unknown coating, a first control specimen, and a second control specimen are placed in the mixed solution in three receptacles. The first control specimen has a sol-gel coating over an alodine coating; and the second control specimen has an alodine only coating. By timing events such as a change in color of the test and control specimens or the solution becoming opaque, the method determines that the test specimen of unknown coating has a like coating to that of a particular one of the control specimens if the timing of the event of the test specimen and the timing of the event of the particular control specimen are comparable.
