  • Publication number: 20080093234
Abstract: An assembled container for smoking articles includes an outer sleeve that includes a front wall, a rear wall, a right side wall, and a left side wall. Packets of cigarettes are positioned within the outer sleeve. For example, two packets, each containing ten cigarettes, are positioned within the outer sleeve. The packets, and the outer sleeve, include mechanisms that interact during movement of the individual packets within the outer sleeve. As such, a portion of each packet is maintained within the outer sleeve during conditions of normal use.

  • Publication number: 20080081047
Abstract: Monoclonal antibody reagents that recognize the SARS-coronavirus (SARS-HCoV) are needed urgently. In this report we describe the development and immunochemical characterisation of mAbs against the SARS-HCoV based upon their specificity, binding requirements, and biological activity. Initial screening by ELISA, using highly purified virus as the coating antigen, resulted in the selection of seventeen mAbs. Five mAbs exhibited Western immunoblot reactivity with the denatured spike protein, of which two demonstrated the ability to neutralize SARS-HCoV in vitro. Another four Western immunoblot-negative mAbs also neutralize the virus. These antibodies will be useful for the development of diagnostic tests, pathogenicity and vaccine studies.

  • Publication number: 20080005089
Abstract: Methods, systems and articles of manufacture for searching content in frames. In general, information located at one or more networked addresses may be displayed to a user in two or more frames. The content of a frame may be searched by designating one frame as a default search frame. Such a designation may be made according to a tag or other criteria, such as attributes of the frame itself or historical information pertaining to a previous search of one of the active frames. In any case, the designation of a default search frame eliminates the need for explicit selection by the user prior to a search.

  • Publication number: 20070289696
Abstract: A tire has a curved tire surface and a nano-scale structure disposed on a portion of the curved tire surface. A contact patch on the curved tire surface contacts a contact surface as the tire rolls along the contact surface. The nano-scale structure has a base and a tip. The base is connected to the portion of the curved tire surface. The tip is disposed opposite the base. When the portion of the curved tire surface with the nano-scale structure is positioned away from the contact patch, the nano-scale structure is in a relaxed position. When the portion of the curved tire surface is rotated into the contact patch, the nano-scale structure is engaged with the contact surface. When the portion of the curved tire surface is rotated through the contact patch, the nano-scale structure is adhesively anchored to the contact surface with the nano-scale structure undergoing tension and compression.

  • Publication number: 20070258095
Abstract: This invention permits retinal images to be acquired at high speed and with unprecedented resolution in three dimensions (4×4×6 ?m). The instrument achieves high lateral resolution by using adaptive optics to correct optical aberrations of the human eye in real time. High axial resolution and high speed are made possible by the use of Fourier-domain optical coherence tomography. Using this system, we have demonstrated the ability to image microscopic blood vessels and the cone photoreceptor mosaic.

  • Publication number: 20070154277
Abstract: The present invention relates to a blind rivet and blind rivet removal system and related method. Once set the blind rivet is not normally removed. However, increasingly removal is required due to the need to recycle automobiles. In order to remove blind rivets it has been necessary to remove the rivet flange by a variety of methods. Generally these methods were ineffective due to the resistance afforded by the mandrel and the risk of damage to the application or workpiece. Removing this unwanted swarf and debris often proved difficult. The invention provides a rivet with a stepped flange and a rivet removal tool with clips adapted to fit between the flange and surface of a workpiece so that upon relative displacement of the clips a rivet is extracted in a substantially axial direction as a single item. The invention also includes a tool and related method of blind rivet removal.

  • Publication number: 20070110540
Abstract: There is provided a blind rivet comprising an axially extending hollow tubular body having a tail end face at one end and a pre-formed radially enlarged flange at the other end, together with a mandrel having a stem which extends co-axially though the body and having enlarged head adjacent the tail end of the body, the stem having a weakened region immediately adjacent the head, whereby the mandrel head having an outer diameter greater than an outer diameter of said body, usually by between 4% and 9%, and which has a uniform conical shoulder extending between said outer diameter of the head and the stem, so as to exert a setting force having an axial component for compressing the rivet body axially and an angular component effecting conical deformation of the tail end radially.

  • Publication number: 20070101221
Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided for implementing scan-chain-specific control signals as an integral part of a scan chain. A scan input vector including scan data input and a scan control signal is applied to a register latch that forms the scan chain. The register latch includes a logic gate for combining a global clock control (THOLD) signal and the scan control signal. The scan control signal is routed around the register latch and including in a scan output vector including scan data output. Chain-specific control signals are eliminated from a clock control signal distribution tree used with the scan chain of the invention.

  • Publication number: 20070093438
Abstract: The present invention relates to the significant functional role of several C. elegans genes and of their corresponding gene products in spindle formation or microtubule function during cell division that could be identified by means of RNA-mediated interference (RNAi) and to the identification and isolation of functional orthologs of said genes including all biologically functional derivatives thereof The invention further relates to the use of said genes and gene products (including said orthologs) in the development or isolation of anti-proliferative agents, particularly their use in appropriate screening assays, and their use for diagnosis and treatment of proliferative and other diseases. In particular, the invention relates to the use of small interfering RNAs derived from said genes for the treatment of proliferative diseases.
