  • Publication number: 20080210150
Abstract: A boat hull has an aft swept ventilated area in at least a part of its bottom planing surface. An aft swept water flow interrupter is positioned to project downwardly from the hull forward of the ventilated area. The aft swept flow interrupter has two generally angularly related legs or sections defining a 30° to 70° included angle, increase lift on the hull, reduces wetted surface area and improves the turning characteristics of the hull.

  • Patent number: 7415565
Abstract: A storage system that may include one or more memory devices, a memory interface device corresponding to one or more of the memory devices, which are organized in sections, a section controller, and a switch. The switch is capable of reading a data request including a data block identifier and routing the data request and any associated data through the switch on the basis of this data block identifier, such that a data request may be routed to a memory section. The section controller, in response, determines the addresses in the memory devices storing the requested data, and it transfers these addresses to those memory devices storing the requested data.

  • Publication number: 20080157532
Abstract: An energy conversion system includes a first mechanical system for converting reciprocating motion to rotary motion, a second system formed of belts and pulleys connected to said first system and driven by said rotary motion to lift a weight in response to said rotary motion from a first position to a second position and allow the weight to return to said first position under the influence of gravity. A rotary electrical is driven by the second system through a transmission means connected to the second system to create electricity only while the weight is returning from its second to its first position.

  • Patent number: 7363128
Abstract: A computer, connected to a communications bus, includes a display that selectively displays a user interface. A plurality of diagnostic applications installed on the computer are capable of receiving data from the communications bus via the connection. Instructions executable on the computer provide a list of the diagnostic applications in the user interface, accept input indicating one of the diagnostic applications to be launched, and launch the indicated diagnostic application. In one embodiment, the communications bus is in a vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20070218783
Abstract: A foil shaped lifting body is attached by means of a strut to the underwater body of a vessel in such a manner as to cause a standing wave to be developed when the vessel is in operation in order that the standing wave will induct water into machinery intakes. The technology of this invention is particularly applicable to the operation of waterjet marine propulsion systems.

  • Patent number: 7230882
Abstract: The present invention is directed to an improved support and lock for use in conjunction with a mobile sonar unit or other device. The improved support is rotatably coupled to the sonar unit base by a coupling assembly. A stabilizing member is slideably coupled to the distal end of the support via a locking assembly. Advantageously, the support maintains an object, such as a transducer, in a selected position and is able to resist deflection despite adverse environment conditions. Further, the disclosed locking assembly can be used for a wide variety of other applications.
