  • Patent number: 8595153
Abstract: A multiple model data exploration system and method for running multiple machine-learning models simultaneously to understand and explore data. Embodiments of the system and method allow a user to gain a greater understanding of the data and to gain new insights into their data. Embodiments of the system and method also allow a user to interactively explore the problem and to navigate different views of data. Many different classifier training and evaluation experiments are run simultaneously and results are obtained. The results are aggregated and visualized across each of the experiments to determine and understand how each example is classified for each different classifier. These results then are summarized in a variety of ways to allow users to obtain a greater understanding of the data both in terms of the individual examples themselves and features associated with the data.

  • Publication number: 20130304649
Abstract: One embodiment of the present disclosure provides a system and associated processes for sharing cardholder data (CHD) between a merchant that utilizes tokenization and a second merchant that may or may not utilize tokenization. In one embodiment, the merchant, or an employee of the merchant, can use the system and associated processes to reacquire CHD from a tokenization provider system. In one embodiment, the merchant identifies to the tokenization provider system a desire to share CHD, which is associated with a token, with a second merchant. The merchant and/or the tokenization provider system can then invite the second merchant to register with the tokenization provider system. Once registered with the tokenization provider system, the second merchant can access any CHD that the merchant associated with the second merchant.

  • Patent number: 8573622
Abstract: A wheelchair comprises a frame and first and second rear wheels that are each independently mounted to the frame via a respective mounting hub. Each rear wheel is detachably mounted to its respective mounting hub at two or more distinct hub mounting points. Either or both of the hub mounting points can be movable with respect to a remainder of the hub, for example via a pivoting arrangement. A disk can be positioned at the rear wheel and a stop element located at the mounting hub can be selectively operated to interfere with the disk to prevent rotation of that rear wheel. The frame can comprise first and second spaced apart and unitary tubes which each extending in an unbroken manner from a wheelchair seat to a wheelchair forward region.

  • Publication number: 20130284859
Abstract: A method is provided for detecting broken rail, unintentionally misaligned turnouts, and track occupancy ahead of or behind a railway vehicle traveling on a railroad track. Shunts extend between the rails at intervals along the railroad track. Each shunt has electrical signal transmission characteristics differing from those of adjacent shunts. A test unit on the railway vehicle induces a test signal in a first rail to create a track circuit in which the test signal propagates along the first rail, through at least one of the shunts, returns to the railway vehicle along the second rail, and through the wheels and axle of the railway vehicle. The test signal has electrical properties selected to interact with at least one of the shunts. The received test signal on the second rail is analyzed to identify predetermined conditions concerning the status of the railroad track.

  • Patent number: 8551398
Abstract: An apparatus for reducing the spread of infection includes a covering that is placed over a handle. A quantity of disinfectant that is disposed in an interior portion of the apparatus is expelled from the interior portion to an exterior surface of the apparatus when a user grasps and squeezes the covering or by gravity or by the use of a pump. The pump is activated at regular intervals or when the approach of a user is detected. The disinfectant is replenished or the apparatus is periodically replaced if an interior reservoir is used. If an outer reservoir is used the disinfectant is replenished or the reservoir is periodically replaced. A method for applying a disinfectant to an exterior surface of a covering is provided. According to a modification, the disinfectant is conveyed from the outer reservoir to an exterior surface of the handle by activation of the pump or by gravity if the reservoir is elevated above the handle. A method for applying a disinfectant to an exterior surface of a handle is provided.

  • Publication number: 20130261926
Abstract: A mobile storage system that includes a guidance system controlling the movement of each of a plurality of movable carriages along a support surface. The mobile storage system includes a guidance system having a magnetic strip positioned on the support surface. One or more magnetic sensors are positioned on each of the mobile carriages and generally aligned with the magnetic strip positioned on the floor. The magnetic sensors detect the magnetic strip and a control unit controls the operation of a pair of drive motors to move the carriages along, the mobile strip while maintaining proper alignment. The guidance system thus eliminates the need for any floor mounted rails to guide the movement of the individual mobile carriages along the support surface.

  • Patent number: 8527159
Abstract: An electronic-hydraulic controller for an automatic transmission includes a transmission control module (TCM) which is disposed outside the transmission housing and is connected to the actuators, sensors and switches within the transmission by a serial data link such as the car area network (CAN). Electrical power is also provided to the components within the transmission resulting in a connector requiring only five or six terminals. Each of the actuators, sensors and switches includes its own integrated electronic circuitry which receives, stores and provides data and allows it to communicate through the serial data link with the externally mounted control module. The electronic circuitry of each actuator stores data regarding its input signal to output pressure and flow characteristics which facilitates replacement of the transmission control module.
