  • Publication number: 20100007114
Abstract: A wheelchair comprises a frame and first and second rear wheels that are each independently mounted to the frame via a respective mounting hub. Each rear wheel is detachably mounted to its respective mounting hub at two or more distinct hub mounting points. Either or both of the hub mounting points can be movable with respect to a remainder of the hub, for example via a pivoting arrangement. A disk can be positioned at the rear wheel and a stop element located at the mounting hub can be selectively operated to interfere with the disk to prevent rotation of that rear wheel. The frame can comprise first and second spaced apart and unitary tubes which each extending in an unbroken manner from a wheelchair seat to a wheelchair forward region.

  • Patent number: 7636772
Abstract: A method in a network computing system for managing configuration information for a set of components in a network computing system. The configuration information is stored for the set of components in the network computing system to form stored configuration information. In the depicted examples, the components may be nodes or devices within nodes. Current configuration is obtained in response to a power cycle. The current configuration information is compared with the stored configuration information to form a comparison. The stored configuration information is updated if a difference is present in the comparison. The stored configuration information is used to configure the components when a power cycle occurs.

  • Publication number: 20090231171
Abstract: A serializer/deserializer is disclosed with a flexible design that allows for sending data streams between computer systems where the power dissipation is markedly reduced by placing the serializer/deserializer in a standby, low power mode between the sending of data. Word data bits are framed and sent along with clock pulses that define when the bits may be reliably received. High speed, typically, CTL logic is used for the transmission line drivers and together with the clock pulse, a data word is sent faster than the computer system can send the next word to the serializer/deserializer. The disclosure frames the word and detects the word end, whereupon the system is placed into the standby mode. In addition the serializer/deserializers may be placed in a master/slave arrangement where the slave can be arranged to use the master's clock to send word data bits back to the master.

  • Patent number: 7569081
Abstract: A method is provided for automated converting of a web of a thin patterned catalyst-coated membrane to separate membrane sheets for fuel cell assembly. The membrane typically has a thickness of about one thousandth of an inch. Automated web converting involves transporting, with use of a movable vacuum, an end portion of the membrane web from a first location to a second location. With use of respective first and second vacuums at the first and second locations, and after removal of the movable vacuum, the end portion of the membrane web is releasably secured at the first and second locations. The membrane web is cut within a gap defined between a single catalyst pattern of the membrane web end portion and an adjacent catalyst pattern to produce a membrane sheet. The membrane sheet is precisely positioned to a desired orientation to facilitate subsequent processing of the membrane sheet.

  • Patent number: 7563252
Abstract: A syringe (1) is moved bodily forward by a plunger (7) (after release of a spring 8) by acting through an O-ring pressing onto an enlarged head (16) of a syringe container (3), in order to expose the needle (5) of the syringe before the plunger acts on a plug (4) within the syringe to cause the liquid to be ejected through the needle. There is, therefore, a two-step movement of the plunger, firstly together with the syringe through the medium of the O-ring, and secondly within the syringe container to force the plug forward, when a ledge (12) on the syringe container (3) is arrested by a stop (14), whereupon the frictional force between the plunger and the O-ring is relieved so that the plunger slides forward through the O-ring.
