  • Publication number: 20080215483
Abstract: An apparatus customizes electronic received information and facilitates electronic transactions with an individual consumer. The apparatus includes a consumer database for storing consumer profiles information corresponding to the individual consumer and a transaction database for storing transaction related information corresponding to individual commercial partners, including target content markers. A first computer program in communication with the databases modifies the electronic information received to include the consumer profile information stored in the consumer database which corresponds to the transaction-related target content markers in the electronic information. • Publication number: 20080189577
Abstract: Method, apparatus and system for isolating input/output adapter error domains in a data processing system. Errors occurring in one input/output adapter are isolated from other input/output adapters of the data processing system by functionality in a host bridge that connects the input/output adapters to a system bus of the data processing system, thus permitting the use of low cost, industry standard switches and bridges external to the host bridge.

  • Patent number: 7404500
Abstract: A pill dispensing cap for a bottle has an inner sleeve with a divider panel and a first base panel rotatable within an outer sleeve having a second base panel. First and second window openings are defined in the first and second base panels. A plate moveable across and within the two sleeves defines a third window opening and a fourth window opening is defined in the divider panel. The plate can be held in an initial position wherein the first and second windows are aligned, whilst the third and fourth windows are not aligned. The outer sleeve is rotatable to a condition wherein the first and second windows are not aligned and the plate can then be slid across to a condition wherein the third and fourth windows are aligned to allow pills in a bottle to enter the inner sleeve.

  • Patent number: 7403980
Abstract: A groupware management system for collaborative groups is disclosed that is scalable to support large, dynamic, multiple, and other virtual VPNs. The system may introduce a graph (or hierarchical) structure to the VPN, providing multiple master nodes controlling membership in subsets of the collaborative group. Use of multiple master nodes in a graph-structured (or hierarchical) network topology often relaxes the need for a single, centralized, globally consistent view of VPN group membership, and enables distribution of the management burden among multiple master nodes. Membership in the VPN may be changed dynamically by the second master node for the member nodes of the second subset, without requiring the first master node to dynamically update its group membership records to reflect the change and in many cases without even having to notify the first master node (and vice versa), for example.

  • Publication number: 20080161110
Abstract: An interactive system allows gambling in hotel rooms (or other remote locations that are part of a cable TV system) using a Video On Demand (VOD) system interfaced with circuit boards used to operated a corresponding plurality video gaming machines, including video slots and video card games. Player checking in as well as checking out processes are facilitated through the VOD system which is operated as a hub or a portal. Existing VOD system cabling to the hotel room can be used to connect up the gaming machines circuit boards to the VOD system, thereby allowing play any place in the hospitality environment where such cabling is in communication with responding TV sets.

  • Publication number: 20080150294
Abstract: Today modern large commercial wind turbines enable large quantities of electrical power diverted from the wind. The short comings are that they need a pitch control mechanism to turn the turbine blades to capture to wind at different angles on the surface area of the blades. This is feature is mostly due to the inadequacies of the conventional generator technology. The Centrifugally Active Variable Flux Generator features moveable permanent magnets that enable variable magnetic flux control that can automatically control the amount of magnetic flux to the stators by the annular velocity of the rotors, therefore control the amount of output electrical power in different wind speeds without the need for a pitch control system on the blades. Modern wind turbines have pitch control system needed to keep the wind turbine operating in the proper rotor speed for efficiency. The present invention enables a wind turbine to be fitted with a fixed turbine blade without the need of a pitch control system.

  • Patent number: 7362146
Abstract: A differential transmission line driver with supplemental current sources that overcome switching anomalies and EMU issues when the logic state of the driver is switching. During a logic transition, a current source, that is directed to the output of the driver, may be prevented from delivering its current. The present invention provides a supplemental current that is active during this transition period to supply the missing current. The present disclosure also details a common mode circuit that maintains a stable common mode output level to help control EMI issues when the power supply for the driver changes.
