Abstract: The present invention relates generally to the field of cancer including tumor therapy. More particularly, the present invention relates to the treatment of solid cancers, including solid tumors, and the prevention or reduction of cancer metastasis, by chemoablation of cancer cells by an agent which also stimulates the generation of cancer-specific T-cells, a process referred to herein as immunostimulatory chemoablation. The present invention further contemplates combination therapy comprising immunostimulatory chemoablation and one or more other therapeutic regimens, which enhance, co-operate and/or synergize with the cancer-specific T-cells induced by the chemoablation. The present invention also relates to pharmaceutical compositions for use in treating cancers.

  • Publication number: 20080034035
Abstract: The invention is directed to techniques for providing an audibly controlled interface for a user of a limited audio-based communication device, for example, a telephony device such as a desktop telephone or a cellular telephone. The communication device has an interface connection with a proxy browser. The user initially accesses the device, such as by picking up the handset, and the proxy browser provides a communication path over a network to a call services application on an application server. The application server provides a response to the initial access signal. The proxy browser receives the response from the application server and plays back an audio output based on the response to the communication device for the user. The user can then respond with a request to the call services application to place an outbound call or to initiate another service provided by the application server via the proxy browser.

  • Patent number: 7315256
Abstract: Method systems and apparatus for signalling within pipelines. The systems methods and apparatus make use of a unit locatable within a tubular piece of metallic structure for the transmission and/or reception of signals. The unit includes a magnetic material core (6) which provides a path for magnetic flux through the unit (4). A coil (81) is wound around a portion of the magnetic material core (6) to allow the detection and/or application of magnetic flux in the magnetic core (6). At each end of the core (6) there is pair of arms (63) which are arranged for location adjacent the inside surface of the tubular structure. In use magnetic signals flowing in the tubular structure pass through the core (6) and can be detected via the coil (81) in receive mode and similarly signals flowing in the coil (81) can cause magnetic flux to flow through the core (6) and into the metallic structure in transmit mode.

  • Publication number: 20070236374
Abstract: Ultrasound information for B-mode and CW Doppler mode use the same digital beamformer. Due to sigma-delta conversion or over sampling, sufficient dynamic range is provided for the desired bandwidth. By mixing the input ultrasound information to base band before conversion, additional dynamic range may be provided. The electrical impedance may be better matched to elements by connecting a different number of sigma-delta converters to an element. Elements with lower impedance may be connected to a plurality of sigma-delta converters. To increase the aperture size for elements with a higher impedance, the same sigma-delta converters may be used as separate receive beamformer channels without the summation.

  • Publication number: 20070227506
Abstract: The invention relates to a drive circuit for an injector arrangement comprising a fuel injector, and method of detecting faults in the drive circuit. The drive circuit comprises diagnostic means (RH, RL) that is operable to sense a measured voltage (VBIAS) between the injector and a known voltage level (VBAT, VGND). The measured voltage (VBIAS) is biased with respect to the known voltage (VBAT, VGND) to a predicted voltage (VPinjN, VBcalc) unless the drive circuit has a fault. A fault signal is provided on sensing of a measured voltage (VBIAS) that differs from the predicted voltage (VPinjN, VBcalc). The drive circuit may additionally, or alternatively, comprise diagnostic means (RF). The diagnostic means (RF) is operable to sense a detected current (Idect) and to provide a fault signal on detection of a fault, when the detected current (Idect) is at variance from a threshold current (Itrip).

  • Publication number: 20070213980
Abstract: The invention is directed to techniques for navigating a network based on audio input to retrieve information from a network. A user enters audio commands into a two-way communication device to access information located on a network, such as the Internet. For example, a user enters a voice request for a web page into a telephone, which sends the request to a proxy browser for the World Wide Web which in turn provides the request to a web navigation application executing on an application server. The web navigation application generates a text-based request based on the voice request and retrieves a web page from the World Wide Web based on the text-based request. The web navigation application uses a script or an XML page to generate a file suitable for audio output from the retrieved web page.

  • Publication number: 20070196206
Abstract: The present invention relates to a turbocharger compressor diffuser loading plate that is in contact with a vaned diffuser and that is in communication with the compressor volute. The diffuser loading plate is pressure loaded so that it moves axially in response to pressure thereby maintaining an effective seal of the open side of the vaned diffuser. The present invention minimizes a loss in compressor performance caused by movement of the compressor housing.

  • Publication number: 20070192405
Abstract: A method and system for validating calling parameters of a method call. Validation conditions are evaluated utilizing original calling parameters provided by a validation method call by a client, where the call is required to initiate an activity. The evaluating facilitates determining messages to be provided to a user, where the messages are associated with consequences of continuing the activity. A validation object having data structures is created. The data structures include the validation conditions and the original calling parameters. The validation object is sent to the client to facilitate receipt of the messages by the user. The calling parameters are extracted from the validation object to facilitate completing the activity with a set of calling parameters matching the original calling parameters.
