  • Publication number: 20090192425
Abstract: A body brace for a wearer has a combination of adjustment mechanisms and fasteners to help fit the body brace to a wearer. A wearer first fastens the body brace about his abdomen and lumbar regions to generally fit the body brace around the wearer's waist. The wearer then adjusts one set of adjustment mechanisms that adjust an upper and lower circumference of the brace to allow the brace to fit both straight and pear-shaped bodies. Lastly, the wearer adjusts a second set of adjustment mechanisms that tighten a rear panel of the body brace against a lumbar region of the wearer. Preferably, the adjustment mechanism that is used to tighten the rear panel is an advantaged adjustment mechanism to allow for fine-tuning and a snug fit.

  • Publication number: 20090170521
Abstract: Apparatus, methods, and systems are disclosed for pairing a first wireless device with a second wireless device and establishing an identifier. The first wireless device transmits to the second wireless device from the first wireless device with the identifier. The first wireless device shares the identifier with a third wireless device. This allows the third device to transmit to the second wireless device appearing as the first wireless device. The first wireless device stops transmitting while the third wireless device transmits. Since the third wireless device used the identifier for the first wireless device, the second wireless device believes is communicating with the first wireless device.

  • Patent number: 7552356
Abstract: In accordance with the invention, a data storage system for fixed content includes one or more peer node computer systems interconnected by a storage system network, where each peer node computer system includes a symmetric storage system application and locally attached storage. A data object is distributively stored on one or more of the one or more peer node computer systems and identified using a unique object identifier. A data object is flexibly stored on the data storage system according to external criteria. Stored data objects are accessible from any of the one or more peer node computer systems. Applications can be executed on the data storage system using data objects that are stored on, being written to, or being read from the data storage system to generate results accessible by a user.

  • Publication number: 20090148039
Abstract: Disclosed is a method of classifying segmented contents of a scanned image of a document. The method comprise partitioning the scanned image into colour segmented tiles at pixel level. The method then generates superpositioned segmented contents, each segmented content representing related colour segments in at least one colour segmented tile. Statistics are then calculated for each segmented content using pixel level statistics from each of the tile colour segments included in segmented content, and then determines a classification for each segmented content based on the calculated statistics. The segmented content may be macroregions. The macroregions may form part of a multi-layered document representation of the document.

  • Patent number: 7518941
Abstract: Methods and apparatus to provide refresh for local out of range read requests for a memory device are disclosed. An example method disclosed herein provides a read signal to a memory cell. An address is received on row address lines ranging from a most significant bit row address line to a least significant bit row address line. A fixed high logic input is coupled to a first input of a row driver logic device associated with a local out of range address. Logic is provided to send a read enable signal on a bit line coupled to an output of the row driver logic device coupled to the memory cell if the address is the local out of range address.

  • Publication number: 20090071152
Abstract: Engine load for a supercharged engine is estimated by determining airflow upstream of a throttle valve that is upstream of a supercharger, subtracting a value representative of a change in air mass between the throttle valve and the supercharger based on a measured change in pressure between the throttle valve and the supercharger, and subtracting a modification value dependent upon a current engine speed and a signal representative of a pressure at the intake manifold.
