Abstract: A selectable mode field transmitter is configurable to operate in one of a plurality of operating modes having different combinations of function, performance, and power consumption. The selectable mode field transmitter includes a housing, a sensor located within the housing, and transmitter circuitry for transmitting data provided by the sensor to a receiver external to the housing. The transmitter circuitry includes a controller that electrically configures the transmitter circuitry to one of a plurality of operational modes in response to mode selection data received from a source external to the housing. Therefore, the selectable mode field transmitter can be configured based on the needs or requirements of a particular application.

Abstract: An ink jet printer comprising a printing fluid cartridge receiving portion arranged to receive a printing fluid cartridge (2) and to allow passage of printing fluid from a received printing fluid cartridge to printing fluid conduits of the ink jet printer; a data reader arranged to read data indicating a quantity of fluid within a received cartridge from an electronic data storage device associated with the received printing fluid cartridge; and a controller arranged to generate update data usable to modify data stored on said electronic data storage device and to modify data stored on said electronic storage device based upon said update data such that data stored on said electronic data storage device indicates an updated quantity of fluid in said printing fluid cartridge.

For each of five Network Address Translation (NAT) configurations, a hash function is specified. The hash function takes into account which of four possible arrival types a packet at a firewall accelerator may have. When different arrival types of packets in the same session are processed, two or more arrival types may have the same hash value.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a mountable recreation table that mounts on the rear of the vehicle while the vehicle is parked and the tailgate is open. The recreation table includes a table top and a table pole attached to the underside of the table top. A table mount attaches to the rear of the vehicle, and the mount includes a receiver for the table pole to be inserted into. The mount is secured to either a striker or a seat headrest in the rear of the vehicle. Advantageously, the recreation table of the present disclosure easily attaches to the rear of the vehicle. The recreation table can be utilized in combination with seats in the rear of the vehicle, and the present disclosure requires no modification to attach the table to the vehicle.

Abstract: The method provides luthiers of fretted instrument with a novel approach for installing frets with increased accuracy. The method is an improvement in calculation of fret placement over the “Rule of 18” because it relies on the length of the vibrating string. This method is more pronounced at the end of the fret board closest to the bridge due to the angle formed by the string when depressed with respect to the axis of the fret board. With respect to the twelve-step octave, the scale length is multiplied by the constant of the twelfth root of 0.5 to calculate the length of the string from fret contact to saddle contact for the next tonal step.

Abstract: A contact sub-assembly is provided for an electrical connector. The contact sub-assembly includes a base and an array of contacts held by the base. Each contact extends along a length from a terminating end portion to a tip end portion. The tip end portion includes a tip surface. Each contact has a mating interface located along the length of the contact between the terminating end portion and the tip end portion. The contact sub-assembly also includes a spacing member formed separately from the base. The spacing member engages each of the contacts such that each contact is positioned relative to each adjacent contact in the array. At least a portion of the spacing member engaging each contact at a location along the length of the contact that is between the mating interface and the tip surface.

Abstract: A cassette includes a shell having a plurality of shielded channels extending between a front and a rear of the shell. Communication modules are loaded into the shielded channels. The communication modules have front mating interfaces configured for mating with corresponding first plugs and rear mating interfaces configured for mating with corresponding second plugs. The communication modules are loaded into the corresponding shielded channels such that the communication modules are individually shielded from one another. Optionally, the shell may have interior walls defining the shielded channels that extend between the front and the rear.

Abstract: The invention relates to a pillow (10), comprising two sheets of flexible material, joined together to define a space, suitable for inflating to provide a cushioned support. The pillow has a head zone (16) for providing cushioning means to a user's head and two wings (18), configured to extend away from the head zone such that the pillow is substantially U-shaped in the plane of the pillow, when deflated. A channel (22) is provided between the sheets of flexible material to connect the wings (18). The channel (22) is positioned at a point in the head zone (16) furthermost from the wing ends (20). The width of the channel increases from the centre line (24) such that when the pillow is inflated, the pillow has a substantially V-shaped profile, formed about the centre line (24) and centerred on the channel (22).

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention relate to providing a vibration dampening system for an overhead frame structure used with a vehicle. The system involves the provision of one or more dampening members and/or components between portions of one or more members forming the overhead frame structure. The dampening members or components are compressed when certain portions of the members are set in position. As a result, the vibration and contact normally encountered between the portions and/or interconnecting brackets is limited, and in turn, the stress normally experienced by the one or more fastener assemblies holding the portions and/or the interconnecting brackets due to such vibration is also limited.

Abstract: An apparatus, system, and method are disclosed for wireless presyncing of data. A scan module scans a partial email stored on a mobile electronic device. The partial email comprises subject text, address data, and a specified quantity of message text. A complete version of the partial email resides on a server. The server is in communication with the mobile electronic device over a wireless network. A download module determines if the partial email satisfies a priority policy. In addition, the download module downloads the complete email to the mobile electronic device if the partial email satisfies the priority policy.

Abstract: An apparatus, system, and method are disclosed for synchronizing inbound and outbound data in an environment that offers multiple data pathways. When an attempt to send data by a host computer fails, the host computer notifies a secondary device with a separate network connection of the failure. The secondary device attempts to send the data over its separate network connection. If the secondary device fails to send the data, the host computer generates new attempts to send the data over its network connection. The secondary device does the same if the host computer continues to fail in its attempts to send the data. When either the host computer or the secondary device sends the outbound data, it notifies the other of the successful send. The devices then stop further attempts to transmit the data. For inbound data, the host computer and secondary device obtain unique identifiers for inbound data items, compare them, and request from the other those inbound data items that it has not received.

Abstract: A method for distributively storing a data object on a data storage system includes determining a layout map ID and associating the layout map ID with the data object. The layout map ID is used in determining a layout map, and the layout map is used in determining a layout given a current configuration of the data storage system. The data object is fragmented into data fragments and parity fragments, and the data fragments and parity fragments are distributively stored on data storage system in accordance with the layout.

Abstract: An apparatus, system, and method are provided for facilitating management of logical nodes through a single management module. The present invention includes a communication module that selectively communicates a management command from a single management module to one or more logical nodes. A translation module translates the management command into one or more functionally equivalent software-layer commands recognized by one of the software layers of the one or more logical nodes. The software-layer commands are compatible with each logical node. A direction module directs the one or more software-layer commands to an appropriate one of the software layers according to a management command scope. The present invention can address management commands to a plurality of logical nodes having disparate operating systems and executing applications.

Abstract: A method, apparatus, and system are disclosed for reassigning a network address. A detection module detects a routing table change for a host. The host is in communication with a least one network. A client is also in communication with the host over a network interface using a first address. A generation module generates a second address for the client. The second address does not compete with other addresses on the at least one network. An interface module disables the network interface to the client. The interface module then enables the network interface between the client and the host. A communication module receives a request for a new address from the client. The communication module assigns the second address to the client.

Abstract: Systems and methods may be provided for pharmacy claims-based condition identification proxies. The systems and methods may include receiving, by a condition identification system, at least one pharmacy claim associated with a patient, where each pharmacy claim is associated with a medication previously filled by the patient, and identifying, by the condition identification system, the patient as a candidate for at least one chronic medical condition by analyzing the at least one pharmacy claim associated with the patient. The systems and methods may also include determining, by the condition identification system, a pharmacy home for the patient, and transmitting, by the condition identification system to a pharmacy computer associated with the pharmacy home, an identification of the patient that is the candidate for at least one chronic medical condition, where the patient is offered at least one service by the pharmacy home based upon the transmitted identification of the patient.

Abstract: A variable rate throttle for controlling a vehicle carburetor having control cables. The variable rate throttle includes a housing surrounding a cavity, a plurality of interchangeable throttle reels, each throttle reel having a different track radius, where a particular one of the throttle reels is positioned at a time in the cavity of the housing and which engages the control cables. A throttle handle engages the interchangeable throttle reel so that rotation of the handle causes rotation of the throttle reel and thus moves the control cables of the vehicle carburetor.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method and system for keyword bidding are disclosed. A particular embodiment includes identifying a keyword searched by a buyer on a host site just prior to their purchase transaction; recording a host site category associated with the purchase transaction; correlating the keyword with the host site category; determining a revenue per click value associated with the keyword; obtaining bidding information associated with the keyword; and automatically generating a bid value for the keyword based on the revenue per click value, the bidding information, and the host site category.

Each of the mating contacts extends from a first end portion to a second end portion. Each of the mating contacts has an intermediate portion extending between the first and second end portions. An electrical compensation component is held within the housing. The electrical compensation component includes a circuit board. The electrical compensation component is electrically connected to at least one of the mating contacts at a location along the intermediate portion that is spaced a distance from the first and second end portions.
