  • Publication number: 20050269006
Abstract: A run-flat support ring, which is a component mounted upon a rim inside a tire to extend the distance the tire may travel at reduced or zero inflation pressure, is provided having an integrated shelf design that enhances the handling characteristics of the support ring under run-flat conditions and may also lower the overall mass of the support ring in certain applications. In addition, the support ring has one or more features that improve the process of mounting the support ring onto a rim and better tolerate variations, within manufacturing tolerances, in the respective diameters of the rim and the support ring.

  • Publication number: 20050263535
Abstract: A device and method of using same is provides which includes the use of an apparatus configured to apply labels to parcels moving along a conveyor belt. The apparatus of the present invention includes a support frame, a pair of turntable assemblies, a corresponding pair of arm assemblies, similarly corresponding arm assembly drive motors, a label application head assembly, a label printer/supplier, and a controlling apparatus. The support frame supports the pair of two turntable assemblies. Each of the turntable assemblies supports one of the arm assemblies such that each of the arm assemblies is pivotable about a horizontal axis. Each of the arm assemblies is also movable along its longitudinal axis relative to its respective turntable. The lower ends of arm assemblies are attached together in a hinged connection. At one end of one of the arm assemblies is attached a label application head assembly.

  • Publication number: 20050255016
Abstract: A sanitizing applicator for applying a liquid sanitizer to a surface. The sanitizer may be a quaternary ammonium compound (QAC)-based or chlorine-based sanitizer containing positively charged ions at an effective concentration level for killing a predefined percentage of microbes present on the surface. The applicator includes a breakable internal reservoir for retaining a quantity of the sanitizer, and a positively charged nonwoven fabric covering the reservoir. The fabric is constructed using a positively charged binder to bind together the strands of the fabric, and is optionally treated with a positively or neutrally charged surfactant. The positive charge of the fabric prevents the fabric from neutralizing the positively charged ions in the sanitizer when the breakable internal reservoir is broken and the sanitizer is applied to the fabric.

  • Patent number: 6963997
Abstract: Systems, methods and software products are provided for transaction logging and intelligent error reporting in an expectation-based memory agent checker. Simulation status information is appended to one or more transaction log messages generated by the expectation-based memory agent checker. A cause of error indicated by mismatch between simulated output transaction events and expected output transaction events is determined. Information about the error is appended to one or more error messages generated by the expectation-based memory agent checker.

Abstract: A power train for a vehicle includes a gearbox with an input shaft and an output shaft and is configured such that the input shaft drives the output shaft at a single speed ratio in a first direction and a single speed ratio in a second direction. The output shaft is coupleable with the front and rear vehicle axles to separately drive each axle. Further, a continuously variable transmission is connected with an engine shaft and with the gearbox input shaft such that the engine shaft drives the input shaft within a range of speed ratios from less than 1 to greater than 3. Front and rear differentials are coupled with each axle and with the output shaft and drive the axles at different speed ratios such that a base surface drives the front axle independently of the front differential when at least one rear wheel rolls upon the surface.

The alignment device includes a light source for generating a beam of light, a support member, an optical fiber, a collimating lens, and actuators. The optical fiber includes an input end for receiving the beam of light, and a generally rigid portion extending from the support member and terminating in a delivery end for emitting the beam of light. The collimating lens collimates the emitted beam of light. The actuators exert forces on the generally rigid portion such that it pivots about a pivot point of the optical fiber at the support member. The collimated beam of light pivots about an optical pivot point as the optical fiber pivots about the pivot point.
