  • Publication number: 20050286754
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and a system for determining whether a target component of an electronic assembly is assembled correctly. The method of the present invention involves correlating the view of a test electronic assembly with both a positive control image and a negative control image. The positive control image is an image of an electronic assembly that has been assembled properly, whereas the negative control image is an image of an electronic assembly that has been assembled improperly. If the correlation between the test image and the positive control image is greater than the correlation between the test image and the negative control image, the test assembly is assembled properly. On the other hand, if the correlation between the test image and the negative control image is greater than the correlation between the test image and the positive control image, the test assembly is assembled improperly.

  • Patent number: 6979865
Abstract: A cellular MOSFET device has a cellular area (CA) comprising active MOSFET cells, and one or more Schottky diode areas (SA) accommodated within a deep end region (15) at a lateral boundary of this cellular area (CA). This deep end region (150) is laterally divided so as to accommodate the diode area (SA) therein. A diode portion (14d) of the first conductivity type of the drain region (14) extends upwardly through the laterally-divided deep end region (150) that is of the second conductivity type. The Schotty barrier (100) formed with this diode portion (14d) terminates laterally in the laterally-divided portions (150deep end region (150) which serve as a guard region and field-relief region for the Schottky diode.

  • Publication number: 20050177295
Abstract: In a motor vehicle driveline having an automatic transmission driveably connected to a transfer case whose output is continually connected to a first output, a clutch, selectively engaged in response to a control signal, driveably connects a second output to the first output. A digital computer continually monitors the occurrence of a change of clutch slip, input torque and a torque rate change to control the torque transmitted by the clutch to the second output. The control causes the clutch to transmit torque to the second output having a constant fraction of the input clutch torque and another portion that is proportional to the clutch slip. This result simulates the torque slip characteristics produced by transfer case having both a center differential mechanism and a viscous clutch.

  • Publication number: 20050177294
Abstract: In a motor vehicle driveline including a transfer case whose output is continually connected to a first output, a clutch, operating partially engaged, responds to a control signal to change the degree of clutch engagement, whereby a second output is connected driveably to the first output. A digital computer continually calculates a change in clutch temperature at frequent intervals and updates a running sum of clutch temperature changes. The control causes the clutch to more fully engage if the current calculated clutch temperature exceeds a predetermined reference clutch temperature.

  • Patent number: 6914226
Abstract: RF energy provided by electrodes positioned between a product is used to heat a product that exhibits a variable impedance during the heating process. As the product's impedance changes during the heating process, RF heating system impedance can be maintained constant by adjusting the distance between the electrodes, adjusting the impedance of a variable impedance device connected between the RF power source and an electrode, or a combination of electrode distance adjustment and impedance adjustment of the variable impedance device. The system is particularly applicable to the heating or pasteurization of bulk food products with multiple heating zones.

  • Patent number: 6913446
Abstract: An auxiliary solenoid controlled variable displacement power steering pump, hydraulic systems incorporating same, and method for improving the efficiency of variable displacement power steering pumps. In one embodiment, a rotor is arranged within a pump body, and a cam fitted on an outer periphery of the rotor and movably arranged within the pump body to form a variable volume pump chamber. The cam is biased towards a position within the pump body to create maximum displacement. A mechanism is provided for forcing the cam into a position of fixed minimum or reduced displacement under certain conditions, such as low engine speed and power steering demand. In a preferred embodiment, the mechanism comprises a solenoid driven connecting rod that is operatively connected to the cam. Activation of the solenoid forces the cam to a position of fixed minimum or reduced displacement.

Abstract: Dynamic filtering methods, systems and computer program products are provided for network performance test results which may apply network troubleshooting expertise and knowledge of network topology to select and display test results in a manner which may facilitate analysis of those results by IT staffs. In a further aspect of the present invention, a severity index is provided which may be generated based on exception events from a plurality of network performance measurements, for example, response time, throughput and availability, which measurements are generated from test results obtained from agents located on various devices on a computer network. The test results may be obtained from either passive application monitor agents or active network test agents.

  • Publication number: 20050101428
Abstract: In a motor vehicle driveline having an automatic transmission driveably connected to a transfer case, a park gear, continually driveably connected through a planetary gear set to the drive wheels of the vehicle, is alternately fixed against rotation on the transfer case or released to rotate freely in response to movement of a gear selector having a park position. When the gear selector is moved to the park position, a pawl holds the drive wheels against rotation. When the gear selector is moved from the park position, the drive wheels are free to rotate without restraint of the park mechanism.

  • Publication number: 20050101431
Abstract: A four wheel drive vehicle having an automatic transmission and a transfer case. The transfer case includes a planetary gear set and a pair of multi-plate, hydraulically controlled clutches coupled to the gear set for shifting between a high gear ratio and a low gear ratio. The transfer case also includes a four wheel drive, multi-plate, hydraulically controlled clutch coupled to the output of the gear set for switching between a two wheel drive mode and a four wheel drive mode. The hydraulic valving and controls for the hydraulic clutches in the transfer case can be contained in the automatic transmission, with fluid passages to communicate the fluid to the clutches. The planetary gear set in the transfer case can be employed with the planetary gear sets in the transmission to expand the range of output gear ratios from the transfer case.
