  • Patent number: 5788256
Abstract: A modular boat rack consisting of aluminum castings attached to an aluminum tubular beam of length dependant upon boat length and having nylon webbing of same width as casting pinned at and suspended from the top corners of said castings. The webbing is adjustable of length and tension to suit different hull or deck design configurations. Legs are attached to the ends of each case.

  • Patent number: 5755567
Abstract: A spin vane for burners and over fire air ports in a furnace comprise a sheet-like vane element having a base and an extension extending perpendicularly off the base on the low pressure side of the vane element. The extension reduces the formation and propagation of vortices on the low pressure side of the vane, increasing flow efficiency and reducing pressure loss across the spin vanes.

  • Patent number: 5723551
Abstract: Compatibilized blends of poly(phenylene ether) resins and polyester resins are provided from nucleophile containing poly(phenylene ether) resins and polyester resins and compatibilizer compounds to afford articles having good impact, ductility and tensile properties. The compositions may further comprise impact modifiers, metal salts, reinforcing agents, flame retardants and flow promoters. Articles made from the compositions are useful for automotive components. Polymers chain extended with multifunctional orthoesters are claimed.

  • Patent number: 5717334
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are described to produce stick-slip motion of a logging tool within a cased well attached to a wireline that is drawn upward by a continuously rotating wireline drum. The stick-slip motion results in the periodic upward movement of the tool in the cased well described in terms of a dwell time during which time the tool is stationary, the move time during which time the tool moves, and the stroke that is upward distance that the tool translates during the "slip" portion of the stick-slip motion. This method of measurement is used to log the well at different vertical positions of the tool. Therefore, any typical "station-to-station logging tool" may be modified to be a "continuous logging tool", where "continuous" means that the wireline drum continually rotates while the tool undergoes stick-slip motion downhole and measurements are performed during the dwell times when the tool is momentarily stationary.

  • Patent number: 5663422
Abstract: A process for the preparation of a 1,2-diacetoxy ester comprises acetylation of an epoxide with an acetic anhydride in the presence of a quaternary phosphonium acetate catalyst or its complex with acetic acid.

  • Patent number: 4120927
Abstract: A process for making an integral one piece rotor liner for use with a high speed rotor. The liner has an inner chamber and an annular chamber designed to operate in conjunction with the rotor operation to automatically allow fluid communication between the respective chambers during centrifugation and automatically establish a seal between the respective chambers subsequent to the centrifugation operation. The process for making the one piece rotor liner generally comprises a first step of molding the liner in an intermediate elongated configuration wherein the inner chamber portion is integrally joined to and spaced from the annular chamber portion of the liner by a reversing section. The general configuration of the inner chamber is located at one end of the elongated liner shape and the general configuration of the annular chamber is located at the other end of the elongated liner.
