Patent number: 10382131Abstract: In some embodiments, an apparatus includes an optical transmitter module that can be electrically coupled to an electrical serializer/deserializer and a controller. The optical transmitter module can include an electrical detector that can receive an in-band signal. The electrical detector can send to the controller a first power error signal and a second power error signal based on the in-band signal. The controller can send a correction control signal to the electrical serializer/deserializer based on the first power error signal and the second power error signal such that the electrical serializer/deserializer sends a pre-emphasized signal to the optical transmitter module based on the correction control signal. In such embodiments, the first power error signal, the second power signal and the correction control signal are out-of-band signals.Type: GrantFiled: October 30, 2017Date of Patent: August 13, 2019Assignee: Juniper Networks, Inc.Inventors: Theodore J. Patent number: 10267729Abstract: The invention is directed to improved systems, methods, and computer readable media for detecting gas leaks. More particularly, the invention detects gas leaks or discharges, such as methane or any other suitable gases, by analyzing reflected or direct light that passes through a region of enhanced target gas concentration. The invention collects light and processes spectral data of the light. All molecules are subject to rotational motions, vibrational motions, and/or combinations thereof (rovibrational motions), in which the atoms in the molecule are vibrating with respect to each other and/or rotating around each other. When the light passes through the region of the target gas, a portion of the light with certain wavelengths will be absorbed by the target gas due to the rovibrational motions of the target gas molecules. By analyzing the magnitude of absorption at certain wavelengths, one can determine the concentration of certain target gas or gases.Type: GrantFiled: May 8, 2015Date of Patent: April 23, 2019Assignee: KAIROS AEROSPACE INC.Inventors: Brian Butler Jones, Steven William Deiker

Patent number: 10269093Abstract: Visualization of three-dimensional data without loss of desired characteristics is enabled by receiving three-dimensional data pertaining to a physical object in the world, the physical object represented by a series of segments, the three-dimensional data including a predetermined number of measurements of the series of segments, storing the three-dimensional data in data storage and generating an average measurement value for each of the series of segments. The process further involves generating a first generalization of the three-dimensional data by selecting, for each of the series of segments, a desired number of measurements, fewer than the predetermined number of measurements, that represent the largest deviations from the respective average measurement, storing the selected measurements as the first generalization of the three-dimensional data in the data storage, and upon request, providing access to the first generalization of the three-dimensional data.Type: GrantFiled: October 5, 2018Date of Patent: April 23, 2019Assignee: Finger Food Studios, Inc.Inventors: Botrous Gerges, Steven William Pridie
