Abstract: A system includes a control system. The control system includes a processor configured to receive a first signal from a light source within an industrial facility. The first signal includes a unique identification code configured to indicate at least a partial identity of a human resource within the industrial facility. The processor is configured to determine a proximity of the human resource with respect to the light source based at least in part on a received signal strength indicator (RSSI) of the first signal, and to generate an indication of a location of the human resource within the industrial facility based on the determined proximity of the human resource to the light source.

  • Publication number: 20180045702
Abstract: An automatic filter changer that automatically inserts and removes a filter from a fluidic path. Filters are introduced into the automatic filter changer in stacks. The lead filter and each stack is removed from its respective stack one by one by a filter separator. The separated filters are deposited onto a shuttle plate which moves the filters into their respective fluidic paths. Fluid couplers connect to each filter to complete their respective fluidic paths and allow fluids to be filtered before sampling. Once collection of the samples is complete, the filters are removed from the fluidic path and discarded or saved for reuse. The shuttle path is returned to its original position to receive new filters to repeat the process again. A graphic user interface is provided to allow the user to program a specific set of instructions to automate the entire process.

Abstract: Methods and systems for cleaning, coating and sealing leaks in existing pipes made of nonmetal materials selected from a nonmetal material selected from at least one of plastics, PVC (polyvinyl chloride), composite materials, or polybutylene, in a single operation. A piping system can be cleaned in one pass by dry particulates forced and pulled by air throughout the piping system by a generator and a vacuum. Pipes with nonmetal fittings or with metal fittings or pipes with a combination of metal and nonmetal fittings can be protected from wear by water erosion and rupturing, extending the life of pipes made of nonmetal materials selected from at least one of plastics, PVC (polyvinyl chloride), composite materials, or polybutylene. Coatings can be applied to pipes having diameters up to approximately 6?. • Publication number: 20180021808
Abstract: Methods, processes, compositions and systems for preventing leaching effects from water pipes (such as lead, steel and copper) having an inner diameter of at least approximately 12 mm. 2-part thermoset resin coating is applied to the inner surfaces of the pipes where the curing agent can be a phenol free and plasticizer free adduct type. The coating can reduce heavy metals, such as lead, from leaching from installed pipes to less than approximately 10 ?g/L (10 ppb). When cured, specific leachates, Bisphenol A and Epichlorohydrin from the coatings will be (less than) <1 ?g/L (1 ppb) with overall TOC levels measured at (less than) <2.5 mg/L (2.5 ppm). Pipes can be returned to service within approximately 24 hours, and preferably within approximately 4 hours.

  • Patent number: 9811850
Abstract: Among other things, one or more techniques and/or systems are provided for facilitating the completion of a user task. That is, user intent (e.g., intentions of a user to perform a user task) may be identified. The user intent may comprise an entity (e.g., a movie entity) and/or an action (e.g., an order movie tickets action) that the user wants to perform on the entity. A provider list may be created based upon one or more providers capable of performing the action on the entity (e.g., a movie application may be capable of performing the order movie tickets action on the movie entity). Providers may be dynamically selected for inclusion within the provider list at run-time. For example, an open market of providers may be maintained (e.g., providers may be added, removed, and/or updated over time), such that providers may be selected from the open market to complete user tasks.

  • Patent number: 9777637
Abstract: The fuel flow rate to a gas turbine is measured using an inert gas. The inert gas is injected into the fuel flow and the concentration of the inert gas in the fuel/inert gas mixture is later measured. The concentration of the inert gas in the fuel/inert gas mixture is then used to calculate the mass flow rate of the fuel.

  • Patent number: 9777874
Abstract: A rotary coupling includes an annular outer section which has a female end, a threaded portion, and a Z-ring relief. A connector pipe has a connection end, a shoulder, and a seal end. A Z-ring is housed within the Z-ring relief and packing seals are housed within a packing chamber; and a retainer ring is threadably received into the threaded portion of the outer section. The retainer ring receives compression screws there-through, wherein in the engaged position the compression screws urge a packing end of the Z-ring longitudinally against packing seals thereby compressing the packing seals into the packing chamber creating a seal. The compression screws are movable between an engaged and disengaged position in order that in the disengaged position the compression pressure against the Z-ring and packing seals is released by backing off the compression screws without disassembly of the rotary coupling.
