  • Patent number: 9438350
Abstract: In some embodiments, an apparatus includes an optical transmitter module that can be electrically coupled to an electrical serializer/deserializer and a controller. The optical transmitter module can include an electrical detector that can receive an in-band signal. The electrical detector can send to the controller a first power error signal and a second power error signal based on the in-band signal. The controller can send a correction control signal to the electrical serializer/deserializer based on the first power error signal and the second power error signal such that the electrical serializer/deserializer sends a pre-emphasized signal to the optical transmitter module based on the correction control signal. In such embodiments, the first power error signal, the second power signal and the correction control signal are out-of-band signals.

  • Publication number: 20160234285
Abstract: A bidirectional mapping is established between network content and application programs, based on declarations at both the network content and at the application. Additionally, bidirectional mapping can provide for deep links, which can associate specific network content with a specific presentation of data in an application program. The identification format for such deep links can conform to a predetermined standard or it can be custom implemented according to a format declared either as part of the network content or the application program. The bidirectional mapping is then utilized by a lookup service to provide functionality to a third-party entity. The lookup service can identify, to the entity, application programs associated with network content specified by that entity and network content associated with application programs specified by that entity.

  • Patent number: 9408009
Abstract: A wearable electronic device is discussed. The device has a housing and a processor in the housing. The processor can enable the wearer of the device to select different operations from an onscreen display. The device also has a communication circuit in the housing to transmit wirelessly to another device cooperating with the electronic device. The device has a microphone hole penetrating the housing to a microphone, a microphone seal component, and a waterproof material in the housing. The microphone seal component has channels and when compressed against the waterproof material can i) allow sound waves in air to pass through to the microphone inside the housing behind the waterproof material and the microphone seal component, ii) form a water tight seal for the microphone hole penetrating the housing, and iii) provide an air pressure equalization mechanism between internal pressure inside the housing and atmospheric pressure external to the housing.

  • Patent number: 9395082
Abstract: A combustor (100) for a gas turbine engine (30) has a circumferentially extending liner (109) defining at least a portion of an interior combustion chamber (107) and a hot gas path (115). The liner includes a resonator section (112) including at least one resonator (116A, 116B) having a resonator chamber (125A, 125B) formed on an exterior of the liner. A thermal barrier coating (118) is disposed along an inner surface of the liner including an inner surface (130) of the resonator section. The resonator further includes a plurality of apertures (117) and each aperture extends through the liner and the thermal barrier coating at the resonator section and there is fluid flow communication between the combustion chamber and the resonator chamber.

  • Publication number: 20160183394
Abstract: An electronic assembly including a printed circuit board (PCB), a housing, and a shock absorbing device that is intermediate the printed circuit board and the housing. The shock absorbing device is formed of an insulative and compliant material, such as a thermoplastic elastomer material. The side walls of the shock absorbing device defines a groove surrounds and at least partially encloses the edges of the printed circuit board. The shock absorbing device defines an aperture through which a fastener is configured to pass to secure the shock absorbing device to the housing and thus securing the printed circuit board within the housing. The shock absorbing device is intermediate the fastener and the printed circuit board so that there is no direct contact between the fastener and the printed circuit board which could transmit impact shock directly from the housing to the printed circuit board.

  • Publication number: 20160169716
Abstract: A meteorological system for calibrating a field measurement apparatus includes a field measurement apparatus coupled to a field device. The measurement apparatus is configured to generate measurement signals corresponding to a physical measurement associated with the field device. The measurement signals define a raw data stream. The system also includes a mobile calibration device including a transfer function module with a resident corrective algorithm. The mobile calibration device also includes a calibration standard data module including calibration standard data associated with the measurement apparatus resident thereon. The mobile calibration device is configured to establish bi-directional communication with the measurement apparatus, facilitate shifting the measurement apparatus to a calibration mode, receive the raw data stream from the measurement apparatus, transmit the raw data stream to the transfer function module, and calibrate the field measurement apparatus.

  • Patent number: 9367107
Abstract: A method and system are set forth for enabling software control of a power management unit (PMU) in a System-On-a-Chip (SoC) device to effect changes in power state without having to adjust external board level states. In one embodiment, once the SoC system controller has been booted, it communicates with the PMU over a communication bus and is able to request changes in power states without requiring external trigger events. Complete remote control of power states according to the method and system set forth herein provides flexibility when debugging and testing SoC devices because there is no need to alter external board states. Also, providing programmable changes in reset states as an alternative to full system reset preserves state data so that the system can be restarted efficiently and quickly from known conditions.

  • Publication number: 20160131673
Abstract: An automatic filter changer that automatically inserts and removes a filter from a fluidic path. Filters are introduced into the automatic filter changer in stacks. The lead filter and each stack is removed from its respective stack one by one by a filter separator. The separated filters are deposited onto a shuttle plate which moves the filters into their respective fluidic paths. Fluid couplers connect to each filter to complete their respective fluidic paths and allow fluids to be filtered before sampling. Once collection of the samples is complete, the filters are removed from the fluidic path and discarded or saved for reuse. The shuttle path is returned to its original position to receive new filters to repeat the process again. A graphic user interface is provided to allow the user to program a specific set of instructions to automate the entire process.

  • Patent number: 9288970
Abstract: An apparatus used for maintaining bait or bait fish at a more level attitude when trolling includes a non-stranded wire attached to a hook. A first end of the wire is threaded through an eye of the hook and wrapped around a shank of the hook. A main loop is provided at an opposite second end. The main loop can be modified to include a first upper loop and a second upper loop. The second upper loop is attached to a fishing line and a pin is inserted into a head of the bait fish, through the first upper loop, and through a bottom of a mouth of the bait fish to secure the bait fish to the apparatus. An elastic band maintains the mouth in a closed position. If desired, a single thicker non-stranded wire may be used or an optional trailer hook may be added to any version.
