  • Patent number: 10942494
Abstract: Described is a method for determining when to transition devices between different states based on determined potential activity in an area near the devices. When the potential for activity near an input device is below a threshold, the device is maintained in an inactive state. When the potential for activity near the device exceeds the threshold, the device is transitioned to an active state before the potential activity can occur near the device. Likewise, when the device is in an active state, the implementations described herein provide the ability to determine when to begin and end transmission of data from the device to a remote computing resource for processing. For example, obtained video may be processed locally to determine if an activity is occurring. If an activity is occurring, relevant data is sent to a remote computing resource to determine if an action has been performed during the activity.

  • Publication number: 20210058323
Abstract: Systems and methods provide a unified collection service for a network. A first network device receives a data reporting message from a data reporting device. The data reporting message includes a first format for a particular data reporting device. The first network device adds routing data to the data reporting message to create an encapsulated data reporting message and forwards the encapsulated data reporting message to a second network device. The second network device transforms the encapsulated data reporting message into a second format that includes a unified message format and forwards, based on the routing data, the unified data reporting message.

  • Patent number: 10900990
Abstract: An acoustic air data sensing system includes an acoustic transmitter, a plurality of acoustic receivers, and a skin friction sensor. The acoustic transmitter is located to transmit an acoustic signal into airflow about an exterior of a vehicle. Each of the acoustic receivers is located at a respective angle from a wind angle reference line and a respective distance from the acoustic transmitter. The skin fiction sensor is positioned in a boundary layer region of the airflow that interacts with the acoustic receivers and transmitter. Based on time of flight values of the acoustic signal from the transmitter to each of the receivers and a skin friction measurement from the skin friction sensor as inputs to a transformation matrix, the acoustic air data sensing system outputs, from the transformation matrix, the true airspeed, the relative wind angle, and the speed of sound for operational control of the vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20210019198
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for reducing the latency associated with performing data reductions in a multithreaded processor. In response to a single instruction associated with a set of threads executing in the multithreaded processor, a warp reduction unit acquires register values stored in source registers, where each register value is associated with a different thread included in the set of threads. The warp reduction unit performs operation(s) on the register values to compute an aggregate value. The warp reduction unit stores the aggregate value in a destination register that is accessible to at least one of the threads in the set of threads. Because the data reduction is performed via a single instruction using hardware specialized for data reductions, the number of cycles required to perform the data reduction is decreased relative to prior-art techniques that are performed via multiple instructions using hardware that is not specialized for data reductions.

  • Patent number: 10867021
Abstract: Methods and systems for authenticating a user are described. In some embodiments, a series of voice interactions are received from a user during a voiceline session. Each of the voice interactions in the series of voice interaction may be analyzed as each of the voice interactions are received. A confidence level in a verification of an identity of the user may be determined based on the analysis of each of the voice interactions. An access level for the user may be automatically updated based on the confidence level of the verification of the identity of the user after each of the voice interactions is received.

  • Publication number: 20200380233
Abstract: Hardware architectures for ultrasonic front-end receivers used in ultrasonic sensing applications are disclosed. An example ultrasonic receiver may include a plurality of ultrasonic sensor elements. A given ultrasonic sensor element may be configured to detect an ultrasonic signal/wave that has interacted with an object being analyzed, such as a finger, if determining a fingerprint is the target of the ultrasonic sensing. The ultrasonic sensor element is further configured to generate an electrical signal indicative of the ultrasonic signal that has been detected. In contrast to conventional implementations, the electrical signal is integrated in an analog domain, prior to being converted to digital domain for further processing. Various embodiments of the ultrasonic receivers disclosed herein may benefit from one or more of reduced power consumption, reduced die area requirements, and reduced cost due to the use of a more efficient architecture.

  • Publication number: 20200383154
Abstract: A device includes a memory, a transceiver, and a processor. The processor receives a request (including a first identifier assigned to a first mobile device) from the first mobile device. In response, the processor determines that a server connection is unavailable, adds a second identifier to the request, and broadcasts the request. The processor then receives a first path (including the first and second identifiers along with a third identifier assigned to a second mobile device) from the second mobile device and sends it to the first mobile device. The processor then receives a first piece of data and a second path (including the first and second identifiers along with a fourth identifier assigned to a third mobile device) from the first mobile device. In response, the processor identifies the third mobile device and sends the first piece of data and the second path to the third mobile device.
