  • Publication number: 20060274252
Abstract: A driver IC package capable of being used in a display device and a display device incorporating the driver IC package are presented. The driver IC package includes a base film, a signal pattern formed on a first side of the base film, an IC chip mounted on the base film and connected to the signal pattern, and a heat radiation pattern formed on a second side of the base film. The base film is located between the IC chip and the heat radiation pattern. The heat radiation pattern, which may be made of a thermally conductive material, helps dissipate the heat generated by the IC chip.

  • Publication number: 20060227095
Abstract: A gate drive portion for a display device including multiple pixels having first and second sub-pixels includes a first shift register generating a first output signal in response to a first gate clock signal, a second shift register generating a second output signal in response to a second gate clock signal, a level shifter coupled to the first and second shift registers and amplifying the first and second output signals, and an output buffer coupled to the level shifter and generating first and second gate signals. The first gate signal is generated in synchronization with the first gate clock signal and the second gate signal is generated in synchronization with the second gate clock signal. Accordingly, the charging time of the first and second sub-pixels may be improved by separately driving the odd-numbered and even-numbered sub-pixels and the visibility of the LCD device may also be improved.

  • Publication number: 20060148128
Abstract: A signal transfer film includes a base film, a lead line formed on the base film and a passivation layer protecting the lead line. The passivation layer includes a nonlinear edge portion formed at a boundary region between the lead line and the passivation layer. The nonlinear edge portion of the passivation layer disperses a stress concentrated to the boundary region in various directions when the base film is bent. Thus, the signal transfer film may prevent breaking of the lead line, thereby enhancing yield thereof.

  • Patent number: 6657606
Abstract: A liquid crystal display device has a flexible circuit board which can prevent the disconnections of output side conductive layer patterns formed at the border portion of the solder resist layer. A flexible base film has a liquid crystal panel engaging portion, engaged with a liquid crystal panel on one side thereof. A driving IC is formed at the central portion of the base film to apply driving signals to driving devices of the liquid crystal panel. A first conductive layer patterns are extended on the base film from the driving IC to the liquid crystal panel engaging portion to electrically connect the driving IC to the liquid crystal panel. A solder resin layer exposes the first conductive layer patterns formed on the liquid crystal panel engaging portion and covers the first conductive layer patterns of the periphery of the driving IC.
