Abstract: A content delivery system, a mobile subscriber terminal and method for mediated access to a data facade are generally described herein. In some embodiments, the mobile subscriber terminal includes one or more applications that may request advertisements, a mediator client, and a delivery client operating as a data facade that interfaces with a delivery server. The mediator client may generate an application profile based on advertising preferences of the applications and may register with the data facade using the application profile. The mediator client may identify, filter and select advertisements to provide targeted content in response to requests from the applications.

Abstract: A system and method are provided for extracting a portion of content from a data item and separately displaying such content on a secondary display screen such as an interactive display (e.g. touch-sensitive or clickable display) that enables interactive content portions to be extracted from the data item and provided separately from the remaining content to both free up space on a primary display screen and maintain visibility of the interactive content, while permitting navigation within the remaining content. Such extraction of content is particularly advantageous for separating logos (e.g. those used for brand recognition (passive), those providing home page links (active), etc.), advertising, and M-commerce (e.g. “buy now” or “add to cart” buttons). By using interactive secondary displays, the extracted content item can target interactive content portions that allow easy access to features without having to navigate within the main content each time.

Abstract: A method for providing presence-related information is provided. The method includes creating a template of presence parameters for an application, storing the template, a presence access layer retrieving the template, the presence access layer using the template to create a profile of at least one presence parameter for the application, and the presence access layer using the profile to specify a presence-related action for the application.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for granularly rating media are disclosed herein. The method includes receiving an identification of a first fragment of the media from the media as a whole from a use. The method additionally includes receiving a rating of the first fragment of the media from the user.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus to forward documents in a communication network are disclosed. An example method to forward a resource in an extensible markup language (XML) document management (XDM) system disclosed herein comprises receiving an XML document command protocol (XDCP) forward request specifying a first identifier corresponding to the resource to be forwarded and a list of recipients to be notified, the first identifier comprising a uniform resource identifier (URI), and notifying a recipient in the list of recipients that the resource is available.

Abstract: A system and method provides subscription invitations for an address book service. The system receives contact subscription invitation requests from originating clients. Contact data from the contact subscription invitation request is extracted. A session initiation protocol (SIP) message based on the extracted contact data is generated. The SIP message includes a user resource identifier (URI) to some or all of the originating client's Personal Contact Card (PCC). A SIP message is then transmitted to remote address book server.

Abstract: An apparatus, and an associated method, facilitates implementation of a parental control feature at a mobile station. A parental authority selects a parental control feature to be implemented at the mobile station and by way of a user interface at a computer workstation or a master mobile station. Detection is made of the selection, and a control signal is generated that includes identification of the selection. The control signal is sent to the affected mobile station. Once received at the mobile station, the control signal is detected, its contents ascertained, and the parental control feature is implemented at the mobile station.

The method includes a client obtaining information related to a change in a first Media Presentation Description (MPD) on a server. Abstract: Methods and apparatus to exchange converged address book events among multiple network domains are disclosed. An example method for a converged address book (CAB) server disclosed herein comprises detecting that a contact corresponding to a second CAB user has been added to an address book of a first CAB user, the address book being managed by the CAB server, and exchanging data between a first domain associated with the first CAB user and a second domain associated with the second CAB user to provide a notification to the second CAB user when the contact corresponding to the second CAB user is added to the address book.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus to subscribe for change notifications in a document management system are disclosed. An example method performed at a subscription proxy to notify a principal of a change to an extensible markup language (XML) document disclosed herein comprises extracting information from an XML document command protocol (XDCP) request received from an XML document management client (XDMC) used by the principal, mapping at least some of the information which was extracted to one or more corresponding parameters of a session initiation protocol (SIP) SUBSCRIBE request, and sending the SIP SUBSCRIBE request to an XML document management server (XDMS) to generate a subscription to notifications regarding changes to the XML document, the XML document being managed by the XDMS.

Abstract: A system, method, and apparatus for integrating active interest information with an address book are provided. Active interest information is indicative of a current or ongoing interest of a first user and may be generated based on use of an application client by the first user. The active interest information is used to update an active interest field in a contact record describing the first user in an address book associated with a second user. The contact record may be updated by an address book client or a converged address book server. Provided is a converged address book server that manages the sharing and updating of active interest information and address books. The active interest information may also be updated using a personal contact card associated with the first user. Also provided is a method and apparatus for prompting communication between contacts based on active interest information.
