  • Publication number: 20080209442
Abstract: A method of displaying content on a device comprises detecting a screen orientation change event, determining if one or more applications are configured to accommodate a screen orientation change, and triggering a screen orientation adjustment in a rich media engine. The screen orientation change event may be a hardware change associated with the device. The hardware change may be detected via sensors in the device. The screen orientation change event may be an input by the user or a signal received from a remote device.

  • Patent number: 7403951
Abstract: A system and method for measuring the similarity between SVG documents. The present invention involves reducing the respective documents to their minimal logical representations and then analyzing the representations using tree isomorphism techniques. Applications can then use this comparison data to more efficiently perform actions such as content compression, content streaming and content searching.

  • Publication number: 20080049789
Abstract: In a RTP stream having a plurality of FEC frames containing source blocks of media packets, random access points are inserted in front of the source blocks so as to allow a media decoder to decode the media packets as soon as FEC decoding is finished. In particular, the media packets contain forward error correction (FEC) source blocks for a multimedia broadcast/multicast-based streaming service content. As the multimedia broadcast/multicast streaming service includes dynamic interactive multimedia scene content where the source RTP packets of different media along with the FEC RTP packets are transmitted as separate RTP streams, the inclusion of the random access point facilitates immediate rendering of the dynamic interactive multimedia scene content after FEC decoding, thus reducing the tune-in latency.

  • Publication number: 20070186005
Abstract: A method of embedding vector graphics content such as SVG into the 3GPP ISO Base Media File Format for progressive downloading or streaming of live rich media content over MMS/PSS/MBMS services. The method of the present invention allows the file format to be used for the packaging of rich media content including graphics, video, text and images; enables streaming servers to generate RTP packets; and enables clients to realize, play, or render rich media content.

  • Publication number: 20070157283
Abstract: A transport mechanism for supporting the download of SVG over FLUTE or UDP. A RTP payload format is specified that enables live streaming and the streaming of rich media content. According to the present invention, rich media content is encapsulated in RTP packets based upon the payload format at the sender. With the present invention, an efficient framework is provided for satisfying several use cases or scenarios that involve rich media transmission.

  • Publication number: 20070064679
Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for handling a session in a packed-based network is provided. The method involves the transmission of packets representing the session. A minimum and a maximum jitter delay value are set for the session. The minimum jitter delay value is based on the time taken by a tone detection algorithm to detect the end of a DTMF event and the maximum jitter delay value is based on the network delay the first packet has been subjected to. The transmitted packets are buffered in a jitter buffer, based on a pre-defined criterion. The packets are played out of the jitter buffer, based on the minimum and maximum jitter delay values.

  • Publication number: 20070022367
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for displaying and manipulating a data object on a display of a mobile electronic device utilizing multi-dimensional tabbing. The invention relates also to a means for creating the data object. The method utilizes information arranged in a tree like hierarchy in the memory of the electronic device. The user of the cellular terminal can move back and forth from one level in the tree hierarchy to other level or inside one level by tabbing.

  • Patent number: 7043560
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for measuring a bit rate between a client and a server. In an embodiment of the invention, a number of bits included only within one or more transaction units are measured over a time period. The time period is a sum of time durations of each of the transaction units. In an embodiment of the invention, bit rate measurements are performed on a server and in another embodiment of the invention bit rate measurements are performed on a client. Embodiments of the invention include adapting, by the server, of content to be sent to the client based on the bit rate measurements. Embodiments of the invention further include reporting the measured bit rate to the server when the bit rate measurements are performed on the client. Other aspects of the invention include sending an indication of the measured bit rate and a desired bit rate to the server when bit rate measurements are performed in the client.
